Also known as T501-Non-Rechargeable Energy Storage Unit, each Single-Use Battery can store up to 1200 EU. That's 8800 EU less than their rechargeable counterparts, 400 EU more than plain Redstone, and you can't recharge them. Like RE Batteries, right-clicking will recharge the electric tools currently in your inventory, using the Single-Use Battery. However, they are much easier to produce in quantities and are easier to transport.
See: Crafting Guide
|Storage||1,000 (per battery)|
Inventory space: A 64 stack of Single-Use Batteries contains 76.8k EU in a single inventory slot, much more space efficient then RE-Batteries (10k), and do not require a generator to be deployed on-site.
Sing-Use Batteries created from normal coal dust will waste 99 8/9 EU per battery. Creating Single-Use Batteries from Hydrated Coal Dust using Water Buckets and using Rubber made from Sticky Resin in an Extractor, obtained with an Electric Treetap will yield a gain of about 387.5694 EU per battery. Using Rubber Wood and a Chainsaw instead will reduce the yield to about 308.4027 EU per battery.
Assuming that you use EU to process the materials, the following table shows the cost in EU to produce one stack of 8 Single-Use Batteries using the most efficient way of creating them (Thermal Centrifuge, Ore Washing Plant, mining, and automation setup mechanics excluded, due to complexity):
|1||Coal Dust||4511 1/9 EU = 4444 4/9 EU (Coal Block's potential EU in Generator / 9) + 66 2/3 EU (cost of macerating a Coal Block / 9)|
|1||Redstone Dust||800 EU (potential EU in Generator)|
|1||Copper Cable||896 2/3 EU = (300 EU (Macerate / 2 because two crushed ores) + 390 EU (Smelt) + 2000 EU (Metal Former)) / 3 (Metal Former makes 3 cables)|
|1||Rubber||291 2/3 EU = 266 2/3 EU (Sticky Resin in Extractor / 3 because it makes 3 rubber) 25 EU (Electric Treetap costs 50EU per operation, and drop average of 2 resin) (if using rubber wood, 900 EU = 800 EU (Extractor) + 100 EU (Chainsaw), but we assume you use an Electric Treetap)|
|Total cost||6499 4/9 EU + 1/2 Copper Ore, with capital of: Water, Bucket, Macerator, Extractor, Metal Former, Electric Treetap, Resin-producing trees, method of charging electric treetap|
Since you get 8 batteries for a total of 9600 EU, this means you will generate 3100 5/9 EU each time you create a stack of 8 Single-Use Batteries! (hydrated + electric treetap recipe only)
Who needs the law of conservation of energy?! Not you! Just don't forget to hydrate the coal dust!
You're interested in using our patented machines, but don't want to reuse your batteries like a hippie or waste precious space with cables?
We're here to help! Just for YOU, we've created the lovely T501-Non-Rechargeable Energy Storage Unit!
What is this device, you ask? Well, it's just what the name suggests: it stores energy and after discharging, it is AUTOMATICALLY dumped into the environment! And as an extra just for you, it even packs MORE energy than our T500-Rechargeable Energy Storation Unit per Storage Space Unit! HAYO!
