As well, you can create these nifty daylight-independent Windmills for an all-over-the-day constant energy supply.

Now, it's not THAT constant, as wind strength may change, globally. But hey, in general it will produce a stead supply of energy.

Sometimes, with good wind, it will even produce more than twice the power of a Solar Collector! ALL DAY AND NIGHT, HAYO!

Our company is fully aware of all placement problems regarding Windmills.

Windmill efficiency WILL drastically reduce if not placed high enough, or obstructed by many other blocks in a 5 block radius.

Usage[edit]

Optionally place an RE Battery in the upper slot. The Windmill will charge the battery or output power at a rate of 0-3 EU/s depending on placement.

Energy[edit]

Storage: None

Output: 0-3 EU (see below for EU/s information)

Detailed Mechanics[edit]

- A Windmill will produce on average 250 EU per Minecraft day multiplied by its height in the world. This number varies greatly due to the highly unpredictable and constantly changing wind strength in the world; this number can be anything from 0 to 500 EU. (Although numbers far below 150 or far above 320 are uncommon)

- A Windmill's efficiency can be hindered by any kind of block placed in a 9x9x7 area around it

It's best to have the cable from the Windmill underneath it and down at least two blocks before turning.

- For each obstructing block, a Windmill's effective height lowers by 1.

- A Windmill treats non-block items like torches and redstone wires as obstructions too.

- A Windmill doesn't treat the roof of the world as an obstruction.

Examples:

A Windmill placed as high as possible (layer 127), with no obstructions (apart from the 2 cable blocks under the windmill) will produce roughly 31250 EU (250 * 125) a day or 1.3 EU/s overall.

A Windmill that was placed near bedrock (layer 10) with no obstructions (not including the cable again) produced a whopping 2500 EU (250 * 10) a day (0.1 EU/s overall) for being so ridiculously low in height.
