The Mining Laser got 4 different modes:

Normal Shot - The old shot from IC | Normal Energy Costs
Short Shot - 2 blocks far | Less Energy Costs
Long Shot - Around 30 blocks | Huge Energy Costs
Spread Shot - Shots 25 'bullets' in a 5x5 square | Even More Energy Costs

For switching the mode, hold the (atm unknown)-button and rightclick.

This tool may only be charged in a Crystal Charger.
