In IC2, you can craft Diamonds! This is a multi-step process, all helpfully outlined on this page for you. To create a single diamond, you will need:
- 64 Coal
- 8 Flint
- 1 Obsidian
- A crafting table
- A macerator
- A compressor
- Tons of energy

First Step: Coal Ball[edit]
First, you need to macerate a full stack of coal to make Coal Dust.

Then, make eight Coal Balls using your coal dust and flint.
Second Step: Compress[edit]
Place all your coal balls in a compressor to make a Compressed Coal Ball.
Third Step: Coal Chunk[edit]
Lay all your compressed coal balls out on a crafting table with obsidian in the center. This gives you a Coal Chunk.

Fourth Step: Diamond[edit]
Finally, compress your coal chunk. You have made one diamond!
Final Step[edit]
Look at how many diamonds you need for a MFE. Weep.
