Copper cables are Tier 1, the most common cable tier. They are only capable of handling Low Voltage (up to 32 EU-p), however, they suffer the smallest distance-related energy losses out of all the conventional cables, with insulated copper cables having even less energy losses.

They are also used in the creation of Electronic Circuits.

Shocks[edit]

(OLD)If you move too close to the uninsulated copper cable you may get an electric shock which does damage to the player so it's best to insulate your cables.

  • This feature seems to be disabled in Experimental versions of IC2 (Test made in 2_2.0.277-experimental)

Cable Efficiency[edit]

Cable type Max packet EU/b Energy loss
Uninsulated Copper Wire 32 EU-p 0.3 1 EU/3.33 blocks
Insulated Copper Wire 32 EU-p 0.2 1 EU every 5 blocks
