The most recent version of IC² is V2.8.<html>.
The Refined Iron is created by putting 1 Iron and 6 Compressed Air Cells inside a Blast Furnace. It is used in the construction of many advanced machinery, such as the Advanced Machine Block. It can also be used as a Steel Ingot in other mods.

I would still recommend that you BUY all machines instead, but if you really want to, you may craft them as well.
