The Compressor is used to create many advanced items, such as Advanced Alloy and Carbon Plate. Other applications include the creation of Compressed Plants (the main component of Biofuel), snowballs, ice blocks, diamonds, sandstone, Dense Copper Plates, Nether Brick and construction foam pellets. In addition, it is used for the intermediate stages of crafting many items.
Note: As of v1.337 a Pump with a infinite water source under it and a compressor placed directly next to it will pump and compress water into snowballs without the need for cells.

Placing the item you want to compress in the upper slot compacts it, creating new items.

The Compressor is used to craft a Recycler.
When using this machine with BuildCraft or RedPower, in order to load the Compressor with items to be compressed (the upper inventory slot), the BuildCraft pipe or RedPower tube inserting the items must connect to the top of the machine, while the sides are for removing compressed product and the bottom is for the battery slot.

It's amazing how much stuff you can craft with a basic workbench, isn't it? Big machines, boats, extremely nimble circuits, everything can be done just with a few tools.
But though this great circumstance, there ARE a few things you just can't do. And you know that.
However, this device can! Yes, we it can!
Using most advanced technology, the Freakin Compress-O-Matic C77 can create a pressure of over 4000 Gibbl. What is Gibbl you ask?
I don't know either, but it must be something frikkin awesome!
The most needed use of this stunning ability is to create advanced materials, like steel plating and other platingly plating stuff. You know, these stuffs...
