To mine Tin Ore, a Stone Pickaxe or better is required.
Tin Ore can be smelted into Tin, or more efficiently, can be placed into a Macerator to create Tin Dust.
It is found between layers 0 and 40, and usually in groups of up to 6 blocks.

To mine Tin Ore you need at least a stone pickaxe.
Tin... a multifunctional resource... use it to craft RE Batteries or some other stuff, which is made out of smooth metal.
