These neat little pieces of future technology are the commonly used energy storage device for all REALLY Advanced Machines.
Yes, it can even get more advanced than the Macerator!
However, newly created Energy Crystals do not contain energy, at all. None. Zero. Being so super-awesome and advanced, before use they must first be be charged in either an MFE Unit or MFS Unit. HAYO!!
Any machine that have at least 1 Transformer upgrade can use the energy from the Energy Crystal (as of IC2 v1.65)

Notes[edit]
Unlike RE Batteries, Energy Crystals cannot be stacked no matter how much power they have, wheras fully uncharged batteries can be stacked up to 16. Also unlike RE Batteries, right-clicking does not recharge the electric tools currently in your inventory.
