Reinforced Stone is an explosion resistant block (a resistance of 180), possibly the best good choice for building a Creeper/TNT safe bunker. It can also withstand a nuclear explosion, providing you build a wall at least 4 blocks in depth. Reinforced Stone is no longer used to craft Reinforced Doors, however the two still go well together.
A single block-thick wall will mitigate most reactor explosions and most of a nuclear blast, while a double block thick wall will completely neutralize any nuclear blast. (IC2v1.9)
- A single block wall (57 blocks total) consists of a 5x5x3 foundation with 3x3x2 core space. This does not include a ceiling, assuming the top of the reactor opens into clear sky.
- A double block wall (178 blocks total) consists of a 7x7x4 foundation with a 3x3x2 core. This also does not include a ceiling.
Obtaining[edit]
Reinforced Stone is made by spraying Construction Foam from a CF Sprayer onto Iron Scaffold (you lose the scaffold). When the Construction Foam slowly hardens around the scaffold, and it turns into Reinforced Stone. This process can be sped up and finished by right-clicking the Scaffold with a block of Sand.
You can mine the resulting Reinforced Stone blocks, then place them back down somewhere else (or use them in crafting). It will take a relatively long time to break, depending on which pickaxe you're using, much like Obsidian.
