The Pump is a ingenious piece of tier 1 technology capable of ABSORBING liquids and compressing them into a cell with a minimal use of power!

Of course while it is absorbing all that liquid it will need somewhere to put it so we recommend buying our patented C-600 capsule cell container!

The pump can be placed next to a Miner to help it suck up lava encountered while mining, or the pump can be used on its own. A pump used on its own will suck up liquid directly below itself; this is probably not useful for lava, but can be useful for water since it respawns under the right conditions. Once the liquid has been sucked up, the pump will fill either an empty bucket or an empty cell placed in the pump's item slot or in an adjacent chest. The newly-filled item will be placed into an adjacent chest; if no chest is available, the item will be ejected into the world.

Additionally, the pump will automatically supply an adjacent compressor with water to make snowballs! BUGGED IN IC² 1.64

Pumps need the Fluid Ejector Upgrade to fill adjacent machines.

Cells or Buckets are not mandatory to turn the pump on because it has an internal storage.

The "Grill" on the pump needs to face into the liquid you are pumping for it to work, the pump can therefore pump from any direction. Use a wrench to change the position of the grate, from the default location to the required location.

Geothermal Generators supplied by lava from pumps gain a 50% BOOST of EU, at the cost of 200 EU for the pump. All you need to do is to place an Empty Cell on the top slot of the pump!

Bugs

Version Description
Industrial Craft²
1.64 Using the pump-compressor snowball functionality will crash Minecraft and corrupt your world if an Empty Cell is not placed in the top slot of the compressor for a placebo effect.
