The Iron Furnace is 20% faster and 25% more fuel efficient than a Furnace. For example, it can smelt 10 items per piece of (Char)Coal compared to only 8 in a regular Furnace and it takes 8 seconds instead of 10 to perform the operation.

Two possible recipes are available. Using a stone furnace reduces the cost by 3 Iron.

Each operation costs 160 units of heat at a speed of 20 units per second, resulting in 8 seconds per smelting operation.

†Other Wood Items = Any block with its material set to "Wood" (includes blocks added by other mods if material defined properly). Includes all other items that can be burned in a regular Furnace, see Smelting for a complete list.
‡Assuming the smelting of 2 items simultaneously, divide by 2 if you are only smelting one item. For values < 2 keep in mind that you will actually have 2 partially finished units.
††All lava containers (e.g. Lava Cells, Lava Cans from Forestry) can be used in Iron Furnaces and Generators from 1.113 onwards.
‡‡All lava containers are worth 10% of their value (2000) inside Iron Furnaces and Generators.
†††Considering as using a Geothermal Generator. Divide by 10 if using a normal Generator instead.

HAYO

Hey there!

Yes, you!

Did you ever thought "wtf i can only use a small stone oven to smelt my 9001 blocks of cobble?" Yes?

Then you're frikkin right, right here:

We introduce: THE IRON FURNACE

Applying most innovative technology and craploads of other useless stuff, we created this awesomely fresh looking Furnace just for you! Of, course, it takes some iron to craft, but in redo it will reduce ALL smelting durations by awesome 20%! Wait, you say that's useless, because every playing Minecraft has lots of free time on his hands anyways? Now, what if i tell you, that due to accelerated smelting you will use 20% less fuel as well!

Now, THAT's an offer, isn't it? HAYO!
