Note that the fermentation from biomass into biogas uses an additional fuel source or electrical power. The latter of which will result in an overall loss of power, which means that this is not a valid means of power generation. Storing large amounts of biogas in a liquid container could, however, provide a player with a backup power source for later use. (IC2 Experimental 2.2.716)

In that regard, point 3 on the page is actually incorrect.
