-Method for forming guilds- Firstly, I am not a modder so I do not know if this is possible but hopefully this idea can be implemented. The purpose of the castle is to house a guild and prtoect its inhabitants from invading persons, teams, or other guilds (as I understand it). So why not have a locked and protected room in the center of the castle containing a personal chest which belongs to the guild leader and contains a paper with the names of all the guild members. Making paper editable has probably been done by other mods before although I personally don't know of any. Anyways, the names of the people in the guild will see each others nameplates in green while everyone elses would be red (so that teammates can be easily distinguished). Also, all people on the guild charter cannot attack each other (to prevent friendly fire in battle). If a castle is conquered, the locked chest can be opened with an assassin skill possibly, then it could be converted by having the guild leader overwrite the names of the previous members with the names of his guildies. This would disband the old guild and allow the invading team to overtake the castle. This would give a purpose to building an elaborate castle, and give castle invasions and sieges a purpose other than just the taking of natural resources. Also if the castle is taken back, the guild can retreat back to their previous castle and survive.

-Teleportation- This is a class specific idea, but possibly create a teleportation module to allow people to go from castle to castle more easily. However, I know this may not be in line with the purpose of the mod, and now that the nether works in SMP it can be used for fast travel.

On a side note castles could also be constructed in the nether and invaders can enter from the nether, so if nether portals are constructed in castles they should be well guarded.
