Do fortune works if your drill bit has it?

I searched all over for this info and was unable to find it, so I did the tests myself. I have zero experience with wikis so if someone could add this info that would be great.

The top accesses the pipes inventory, the "back" accesses the drill inventory, and the other sides access the scanner. As far as I can tell the only way to know which side is the back is to keep track when placing the miner, as I can not see any difference between the sides.

Maximum Depth?[edit]

Can someone determine if there's a maximum depth at which the miners can dig? I'm starting to see evidence that miners can only dig 64 blocks deep (I'll double-check to be sure). I want to see if this is how it's supposed to be or if this is a bug. --mindstorm8191 July 9 2012
