I find this to be one of the first things I make after the regular generator - far before solar power. Shouldn't it be quite far up on the tutorial? If you're building your base down underground, it's incredibly effective, and even if not it's far simpler to get a lot of energy out of than solar panels compared to price - especially as it's got a 48k EU storage in form of lava. A single bucket of lava produces more energy than a full day and night of a solar panel, and for four tin you get 16 cells - providing 32k EU. : Good point. Main reason is then you get in to Pumps, Canning Machine, etc... Also Solar Panels were a lot easier to make before. The main concern is getting some kind of passive trickle power to reduce fuel consumption. However, I'll work on adding something for other power types. I might add a Geothermal and then just reference the Pump and Canning Machine for the player to look at. --[[User:Trifler|Trifler]] 23:13, 28 July 2012 (UTC) | |||

Geothermal Generator[edit]
I find this to be one of the first things I make after the regular generator - far before solar power. Shouldn't it be quite far up on the tutorial? Nuclear Reactor[edit]
Please let's not put stuff about Nuclear Reactors in a "First Steps" tutorial. --Trifler 00:57, 3 November 2011 (CET)
Raw Materials[edit]
Here is a list of the total materials needed to possess one of everything on this tutorial, for those (like me) that would like to go out, collect a ton of materials, and then just sit and industrialize in one shot, based on the page as of 12-29-2011.
59 Coal
40 Cobblestone
238 Copper Dust
12 Diamond
7 Dirt
3 Flint
30 Glowstone Dust
227 Iron Dust
18 Lapis Lazuli
199 Redstone
235 Rubber
11 Sand
4 Seeds
130.75 Tin Dust
4 Water Bucket
65 Wooden Planks
NOTES:
- Most of the copper is used in making copper wires. Since it takes 3 copper to make 6 cables, there may be slightly more copper required to fulfill the recipe, and thus, a leftover wire or two.
- Some recipes require empty cells. Since it takes 4 tin to make 16 empty cells, there may be slightly more tin required to fulfill the recipe, and thus, a few leftover cells.
- All diamonds can be replaced by Industrial Diamonds at the cost of 64 coal, 4 clay, and 8 flint apiece. To replace all diamonds, the total required materials are 768 coal, 48 clay, and 96 flint.
- No energy or fuel costs are taken into account for any of this production.
- Dusts are listed instead of ingots due to use of bronze ingots, which must be smelted from bronze dust.
- All these numbers were done by hand (I have way too much time on my hands) and as such may not be 100% error-proof.
- Bronze armor has been excluded.
