First Steps Tutorial[edit]

You said that the manual kinetic generator was a good early game power source, despite the fact the converter from kU to EU needs an Iron Shaft, which requires the metal former. Might want to rethink that. Chocohead NagAdditions 17:44, 16 March 2015 (CET)

I have four worlds now, and on three of them the Metal Former was my first machine (before even a generator). This is because it saves heavily on resources. I then made an Extractor and Macerator while running my Metal Former on redstone (on all but the first world), then start making single-use batteries. On my second world I had found many (12) diamonds, so I made a Compressor and skipped straight to an MFE before even making tools. But otherwise as soon as I have tools I rush a Charge Pad and Manual Kinetic Generator, since my source of power is not stable until I make a nuclear reactor (3 worlds) or charcoal factory (1 world). On my next world I am going to do a Kinetic Wind Mill setup to start out, and I still need to try out Biofuels and other Heat-based power. Solar power comes next, and I don't think it is even worthwhile to mention Water Mills.--Max Shen (talk) 20:14, 16 March 2015 (CET)
