We need an updated pic for the UI then. --Trifler 06:37, 1 January 2012 (CET)

Advanced energy system[edit]

With tin and diamond cable (glass fiber) With IC², you can now use 24 diamond cables (12/12 on 2 face opposed) and put 4*2 (2 face, hier too) copper calbe (insulated, of course) +5*2 tin cable to gather 1 (on the diamond cable) +4*2=8 solars pannels(on the copper cables) +2*5 +2*1 (at the end of your line of cable): Result: Numbers of solar pannels: 1+2*4+2*5+2*1=1+8+10+2=21 solar pannel per diamond cable, so 24*21= 504 solar pannels, 504 EU/tick. Loss ? so, if you add the losses of the differents cables: per "line" of cable: 5*tin cable=5*1/40=5/40 + 4*8/40=32+5=37/40 >1 ... that's why you have no losses on each line of cable. If we add the diamond cabble losses (1 per 40 cables in 1.64 isn't it ?), there's 12*1/40+37/40=59/40, and i think that 2 EU lost (on each face of the MFSU) for 502 "won" is reasonnable isn't it ?

PS: sorry for my english, i'm french ... ^^ PPS: Even if it should in theory works, there's a bug when a tin cable joins a copper cable, and EU produced by the solar pannel on the tin cables won't be counted. That's why I advise you not to use copper cable between diamond and tin cables, it should works better ;) (It makes 11 solars pannels per diamond cables with no losses, but it's not as cheap as my system with copper cables if they wasn't bugged, because for 505 EU, you will need 45 diamond cables)

Solar Flowers[edit]

For those of you looking for videos on how to make Solar Flowers, you do NOT need a switch cable to make them. Use Copper Wire to connect all the Solar Panels to one wire, then run it down to an MFE Transmitter. From there, run 2x Insulated Gold Cable (at least 3 units) out of the output face of the storage device (the MFE) into an LV Transformer with the three dots facing the Gold Cable. Then run Copper Wire out of any of the other of the faces of your transformer into any number of basic machines, such as Induction Furnaces, Macerators, Recyclers, etc...

Note: If you are going to use an MFS Unit then you will need to run 3x Insulated HV Cable (try not to use too much, it loses energy rapidly) or, alternatively, Glass Fibre Cable to an MV Transformer with the three dots facing that wire, then run your Gold Cable to your LV transformer, and so on.

Hope this helped!

PROTIP: Most Solar Flowers are either a pyramid of 5 or 13 Solar Panels.

Still Broken[edit]

SMP on bukkit, 1.337b, EU-reader shows 0 all the time Discipol 22:32, 17 December 2011 (CET)

  • You sure you don't have the cable running too far? Copper cable loses power very quickly, and if your batbox is too far away it simply won't "draw" any current, and the EU-reader will say 0 no matter where you test. Rocketman679 08:48, 30 January 2012 (CET)

New page for the new solar panels[edit]

New Page for LV/MV/HV Solar panels[edit]

Can you please create a page for the new solar panels?

  • Those aren't a part of default industrialcraft, but rather a part of the "Advanced Machines" IC2 addon. Luingar 22:54, 20 April 2012 (CEST)
