The Pump is a tier 1 machine capable of pumping liquids into an Universal Fluid Cell.

The Pump can be used on its own or be placed next to a Grid Miner.png Miner to pump water and lava encountered while mining. Once a liquid has been sucked up, it can be pumped out directly to an adjacent machine or Pipe using the Grid Fluid Ejector Upgrade.png Fluid Ejector Upgrade or will fill an empty bucket, a Grid Universal Fluid Cell.png Universal Fluid Cell placed in the Pump's top item slot.

Cells or buckets are not required to use the Pump because it has an internal storage.

The Pump can pump from the direction that the "grate" texture is facing. Use a wrench to change the position of the grate.

  • It operate per 20 ticks with no upgrades.

Before build 538, Geothermal Generators supplied with lava from pumps gain a 50% EU boost, at the cost of 200 EU for the pump. All you need to do is to place an Empty Cell on the top slot of the pump. The pump is also no longer limited to the block just beneath it, and can pull distant liquids.

Also removed in build 538 is the pump's ability to automatically supply an adjacent compressor with water to make snowballs. This functionality is bugged in IC² 1.64

History[edit]

Version Changes
Industrial Craft²
0.90 Released
1.23 A pump with a compressor adjacent to it can now automatically produce snowballs without cells.

Bugs[edit]

Version Description
Industrial Craft²
1.64 Using the pump-compressor snowball functionality will crash Minecraft and corrupt your world if an Empty Cell is not placed in the top slot of the compressor for a placebo effect.
