Lead is mostly useful in IC&sup2; for its radiation-shielding properties, and thus is a component of the {{Gin|Nuclear Reactor}}, {{Gin|Reactor Chamber}}, and {{Gin|Reactor Pressure Vessel}} blocks as well as the <span style="font-size:64%">mostly</span> blast-proof {{Gin|Reinforced Door}}.  It is also used to craft basic {{Gin|Reactor Plating}} as well as the {{Gin|Containment Box}} for safe transport of radioactive materials.

Lead is a metal resource added by IC² and generated as ore between layers 0 and 65, usually in groups of up to 6 blocks. It requires a stone pickaxe or better to mine.

Uses[edit]

Lead is mostly useful in IC² for its radiation-shielding properties, and thus is a component of the Grid Nuclear Reactor.png Nuclear Reactor, Grid Reactor Chamber.png Reactor Chamber, and Grid Reactor Pressure Vessel.png Reactor Pressure Vessel blocks as well as the mostly blast-proof Grid Reinforced Door.png Reinforced Door. It is also used to craft basic Grid Reactor Plating.png Reactor Plating as well as the Grid Containment Box.png Containment Box for safe transport of radioactive materials.

Apart from these purposes, lead in dust form is a component of the Grid Advanced RE-Battery.png Advanced RE-Battery.
