You can get Iridium Ore from dungeoun chests as rare loot(only applicable to v 2.x). This makes Iridium Ore very, very expensive and hard to get. Iridium Ore has a role in making Iridium Plates.
It is highly recommended to use your first piece of Iridium Ore in a Scanner so that you can replicate it.
