The Electric Furnace is a better and more expensive version than the Iron Furnace.

The benefits of this device compared to the Iron Furnace is that the Electric Furnace is 12.5% faster and, as the name indicates, it uses electricity. By running on electricity instead of burning items, it is able to shut of immediately upon finishing, and thus avoid wasting energy. You can best take advantage of this by having some form of energy storage between the Electro Furnace and the generator(s).

You can put the item you want to smelt in the upper slot, and in the lower slot an energy storage item like a Single-use Battery, if you don't have a direct Cable connection.
