Forum post about IC2 Wiring by Alblaka: forum.industrial-craft.net

Firstly, Cables do not act like redstone; you cannot place them diagonally to travel in a stair formation. They must be placed like stairs.

<center></center>

Most machines will accept power from a wire on all 6 sides, but you (usually) only need one input.

Generators can output power from all 6 sides <span style="color:#0066FF">(but only from one side at any one time)</span>, however don't cover the top of a Solar Panel, for obvious reasons.

Starting simple this is the most basic set up without omitting a BatBox. The max insulated cable length for copper is achieved here. The cable is <span style="color:#0066FF">4</span> blocks long. <s><span style="color:#0066FF">You lose EU if the current in the cable travels for too long, losing 1 EU upon reaching the 4th block, then another 1 EU for every 3 blocks after that. but if you use the most advanced wire, "Glass Fibre Cable," you can achieve a length of 50 blocks.</span></s> Does not apply to latest versions of IC2 Experimental (v2.2.x)

This setup will not work as the BatBox is not a splitter and it doesn't have two outputs, it will accept input from 5 sides at the same time but will only output on the output face marked with dot.

This is a simple buffer, it can be used to store EU for use without running the generator

This is a simple 2x solar flower setup with a loop. This will enable you to spread EU around your Factory and not have it bottleneck in any particular spot. Take note the BatBox connecting the generators to the loop.
that way the EU will be evenly distributed around the area. In the center of the solar flower there is a wire, a normal,average wire.(because of advances in the programing of the wires they now allow to be connected up to 6 sides simultaneously opposed to the 3 side max in IC.)

Now for something more advanced, the MFE. This is an example of an improper setup of an MFE before I turn off the redstone as shown in the second picture

and after I placed the 2 wires above the MFE will output one 128 EU packet and everything crispifies. (Latest IC2 Experimental versions do not do this)

this caused a loop of power to be sent from the top of the MFE(output) back into the batBox hence killing the setup.(and wasting the wire because it couldnt handle the power and just melted)
To properly use a MFE, you need to use a Low Voltage Transformer and gold or better wire. the MFE is used to scale the voltage up and the Low voltage transformer to scale it back down. Quite similar to real life and your local power grid.doing this increases the range of the power but needs a better Cable. The energy loss is less because you are sending less packets that are larger, they still lose EU over the cable but you lose less.

Next is series of machines, and current splitting. You can have your machines in a row and power them from one MFE the excess is sent back to the MFE and stored. In this setup I have the maximum cable length without loss (to prevent continuous loss of power) and the measurements listed are from right to left and the last one receiving 0 EU. the Eu splits evenly between each machine as it acts like a cable end.

and this is with an MFE output of 128EUs

as you can see it is useless to make lines of machines any longer than 5 and 4 would be optimal as the last 2 would receive 8/2 = 4 EU each, which will power most common machines easily. You could use the 50 EU output if you wanted to power say 4 crystal chargers in a row.

You can then save space and stack your machines in a feasible 3x4 array like so.

and the back to power them

Next up is Miners and making them do what you want them to. In the first setup I have a solar flower powering a MFE => HVT => HVT => Miner. This is a one way operation, but the miner can only accept so much EU at a time therefore the 2000 EU sent towards the miner will sometimes be rejected and get sent back. causing loss each way. This can happen as often as once each frame causing massive power loss.

A better way to do it is using Switch Cables. these accept input on all sides but the bottom, (which is the output). However if you apply Redstone current it will make the top output and the bottom input. This can be used as a switch before sending Eu from the MFE =>HVT. This way you can shut the whole operation down and let the MFEs charge up.

The miner can be set up to automate with water streams as well. however I use Feanorith's Mine Factory Mod that lets you build a conveyor. This is easier then digging trenches and placing water buckets. It also can travel ridiculously long lengths, and never have to dig one block down. This is similar to water running on iceblocks (if you can craft em)

Take note that I have all but one of the 5 available sides of the miner covered as to direct the item toward the conveyor, and a small 3 long wall to stop the items from being shot over the conveyor.

The Medium Voltage Transformer is used to turn High Voltage (HV) EU current into Medium Voltage (MV) and back. This is useful for powering advanced machines and for medium-range energy transport.

HV current must be wired into the output face (the 3-dotted one), while MV current can be wired into any otherface. By default, the Transformer outputs MV current. A Redstone signal must be applied to it in order to make it reverse flow, thereby emitting HV current from the High Voltage face (the 3-dotted one).

Recipe
Usage
When using any Transformer, remember that the 3-dotted side means higher current and the 1-dotted sides mean lower current. You can change the direction the 3-dotted side is facing by right-clicking a 1-dotted face with a Wrench.

Converting to MV:
In order to convert from HV to MV, you must point the cable carrying HV from a HV Transformer or MFS Unit to the 3-dotted side and then link a cable that can carry MV to one of the sides with a single dot. Then that cable will be carrying MV that you can link to advanced machines, store in a MFE Transmitter or convert to LV with an LV Transformer.

Converting to HV:
In order to convert from MV to HV, point the cable carrying MV from a MFE Transmitter or a LV Transformer to one of the one-dotted sides and then link a cable that can carry HV to the 3-dotted side. Do not forget to apply redstone to the MV Transformer.

The Storage field is how many EUs the machine can store within itself, not how much the top slot can hold. So saying "(number of cells) x 13500" is not correct in this instance. --Trifler 03:31, 18 November 2011 (CET)
Generators will output power from all 6 sides <span style="color:#0066FF">(but only from one side at any one time)</span>, however don't cover the top of a Solar Panel for obvious reasons.

Starting simple this is the most basic set up without omitting a BatBox. The max insulated cable length for copper is achieved here. The cable is <span style="color:#0066FF">4</span> blocks long. <span style="color:#0066FF">You lose EU if the current in the cable travels for too long, losing 1 EU upon reaching the 4th block, then another 1 EU for every 3 blocks after that. but if you use the most advanced wire, "Fibre wire," you can achieve a length of 19(?)</span>

This setup will not work as the BatBox is not a splitter and it doesnt have two outputs., it will accept input from 5 sides at the same time but will only output on the output face marked with dot.

In the center of the solar flower there is a wire, a normal,average wire.(because of advances in the programing of the wires they now allow to be connected upto 6 sides simultaneously opposed to the 3 side max in IC.)

Now for something more advanced, the MFE. This is an example of an improper setup of an MFE before I turn off the redstone as shown in the second picture

and after I placed the 2 wires above the MFE will output one 128 EU packet and everything crispifies.

this caused a loop of power to be sent from the top of the MFE(output) back into the batBox hence killing the setup.(and wasting the wire because it couldnt handle the power and just melted)

You can have you machines in a row and power them from one MFE the excess is sent back to the MFE and stored. I this setup I have the maximum cable length without loss (to prevent continuous loss of power) and the measurements listed are from right to left and the last one receiving 0 EU. the Eu splits evenly between each machine as it acts like a cable end.

and this is with an MFE output of 128EUs

as you can see it is useless to make lines of machines any longer than 5 and 4 would be optimal as the last 2 would receive 8/2 = 4 EU each, which will power most common machines easily. You could use the 50 EU output if you wanted to power say 4 crystal chargers in a row.

You can then save space and stack your machines in a feasible 3x4 array like so.

and the back to power them

Next up is Miners and making them do what you want them to. I the first setup I have a solar flower powering a MFE => HVT => HVT => Miner.

This is a simple 2x solar flower setup with a loop. This will enable you to spread EU around your Factory and not have it bottleneck in any particular spot. Take note the BatBox connecting the generators to the loop.
that way the EU will be evenly distributed around the area. In the center of the solar flower there is a wire, a normal,average wire.(because of advances in the programing of the wires they now allow to be connected upto 6 sides simultaneously opposed to the 3 side max in IC.)

Now for something more advanced, the MFE. This is an example of an improper setup of an MFE before I place the 2 wires in the second picture

and after I placed the 2 wires above the MFE will output one 128 EU packet and everything crispifies.

this caused a loop of power to be sent from the top of the MFE(output) back into the batBox hence killing the setup.(and wasting the wire because it couldnt handle the power and just melted)

You can have you machines in a row and power them from one MFE the excess is sent back to the MFE and stored. I this setup I have the maximum cable length without loss (to prevent continuous loss of power) and the measurements listed are from right to left and the last one receiving 0 EU. the Eu splits evenly between each machine as it acts like a cable end.

and this is with an MFE output of 50EUs

as you can see it is useless to make lines of machines any longer than 5 and 4 would be optimal as the last 2 would receive 8/2 = 4 EU each, which will power most common machines easily.

Tutorial out of date
This tutorial is largely out-of-date. For example, you *can* run cables in a stair formation now. The pictures are obviously out-of-date. BatBoxes, etc. etc. --Trifler 03:30, 10 October 2011 (CEST)

i will start the laborious task of updating it to the 21st century. but how would i incorporate pictures into it without linking to a external server?(basicly how to upload a pic)
and i can work the rest out.
one more thing what type of wire shuld i use? copper is a good choice but others work better but are too expestive to use in a tutorial so ill stick to copper and i will try to reproduce the images in a similar fashion to the original and i think the original tutorial should be copyed to a new page named "Industrial Craft(original) tutorial" <font size="1">-- by Zulu 217 (talk)</font>
Wiring2
I was sad when I discovered there was no wiring guide when ID2 came out, so Here's one based on my experimenting. Parts may be wrong, but this is all tested info.

Basic wiring requires an energy source (generator, solar panel, etc.), a storage unit (a batbox, a mfe, or a msu), wiring based on the storage unit (batbox=low=32, mfe=medium=128,
msu=high=512), and the machine(s) you are wiring. Cables lose power after a distance, so the most effective way (or my prefered way) to construct any solar generator set-ups is in "solar flowers".

1. place a storage unit at the center of where your making this flower. 2. Using a wrench, you can change the direction the storage unit is taking and delivering energy, so you should dig under the storage unit, and right click it to change the output direction downward, so you can have the input from the the 4 sides and the top, since solar generators need to "see" the sun to get power, they cant be placed under each other. Place up to 4 copper wires out each direction, because after the energy paces 5 cables, 1 energy is lost (assuming the cable is insolated and is copper). This should make a straight line out each side. 3. place 1 cable on each side of the 3rd cableso each row of cables makes a lowercase "t". 4. place the solar panels around the outer side, always touching the cables. If done right, this should now resemble a diagonal square. 5. put generators on top of the cables, to make the most use of the cable space. Lastly, a cable on top of the storage unit allows you to add another solar generator on top of it. 6. Now you need to connect the storage unit to the power in your house. You can use cable to take it to your house, but I would put some storage units every 4 cables to prevent the 5th from losing power. 7. Be aware of the voltage you provide to your home. Most machines require low voltage, and they don't require a constant 32 energy for each tick, they each gulp around 1,2, or 5 energy per tick, but they need a certain amount per function, such as 128 energy to burn something in the electric furnace (not the actual amount, just an example). If you send medium or high voltage power into a machine which requires lower voltage will make the machine and some wiring blow up.

More general tips

The wrench, which is used up after its destroyed, or the electric wrench, which can be recharged at a storage unit, is used to mess with machines in a few ways. It will remove most machines you right click with it, which is better than destroying it cause if you just destroy it instead of remove it, then the machine is destroyed in the process. The other use is it will change the direction of the output for storage units.

The storage units have 1 output slot, the side with the dots, and 5 input slots, where you put the cable to insert energy. Using a wrench on the storage unit does 1 of 2 things, either it will move the output slot to the side you click, or it will remove the machine if you click the output slot. So if you click the storage unit, and it gets reverted into an item, you clicked the output slot.

Different cables hold different amounts of voltage, copper is best for low, gold for medium, and iron for high. However, if your power generators, such as solar panels, are far away from your house, glass fibre cable is best. The higher cables can hold the power from the lower cables, but once the power is higher then the levels (32=low, 128=med 512=high) it is considered the next level up (33=med, 129=high).

When using transformers to change the voltage, it can be frustrating to figure out how they work. You dont need transformers if your combining cables to increase the power inside them, like making a T intersection, but you need transformers to downgrade the energy. You lose the energy is being downgraded. Like storage blocks, using a wrench on transformers will change the input/output directions of the transformer. Unlike storage units, the transformers have 1 input and 5 outputs, and the wrench changes the input.

If you decide to skip transformers, and plug a mfe into a low voltage machine, the wiring and machine will blow up, because there was too much power being brought through. You also cannot get away with just having a copper cable cable coming out, because it can overload too.

Use sand, dirt, or something easy to break, and make some maintenance passages, because I can almost destroy my computer for the amount of coals I burned re walling my place after editing the cable system, adding new lines, new machines, and so on. Tunnels will save alot of time, effort, and resources in the long run.

Because you lose energy over long distances, and fibre cable takes diamonds, I prefer to makes a long system of bat boxes after every 4th cable. The boxes will allow more energy to be held in the system, and you don't lose that 1 energy every 5th cable. But this requires a lot of iron, so if you just want to use the diamond and get the cabling over with...

Lastly, Machines that are set up on the same cables will have to share the power brought through the cable. For example, copper brings in 32 energy, and you have 4 machines set up. The 1st machine takes 7 power, the 2nd takes 8, the 3rd takes 9, and the 4th takes 10. After the 1st, there's 25 power left, after the 2nd there's 17, after the 2rd there's 8, which doesn't leave enough for the 4th. adding a 2nd energy box on the other end would fix this, but beware the price of each machine.

<i style="font-style: normal; font-size: 8pt">--Tomahawk232 06:01, 9 November 2011 (CEST)</i>

tomahawk232's addition
i know i haven't done a lot of work on this i am still going to do it i just send too much time on minecraft instead of the tutorial i will try to finish by ether saturday or sunday

:2. some of your additions sound a little wrong like wires burn out if toomuch eu/t is pushed through them not limit.
e.g i have a mfe->transformer(lv)->battbox connected with copper. the copperwire between the mfe and transformer turns to smoke while the wire between the transformer and battbox is fine

:3. the part about transformer is pritty good (i havent read it entirly jusy skimed it(ill read it in the morning))but the part i did read was good and a worthy addition to the tut.
edit i take it back partly transformers dont need to upgrade but can be setup to ugprade with redstone current in the form of a adjacent redtorch/lever/button(pritty useless with this it needs to say powered(redstone) not toggled on) and it will transform up without the need of expesive mfsu and mfes.

:4.) (<-looks like a witches face) well ther isnt a four im just bored :/

<spoiler>
This is info I gathered from IC2. As Far as I know, the info here hasn't changed much, except copper cables are thinner. I wanted to put down IC2 info to help this page update.

Transformers are special, they downgrade your voltage so you can use a mfe or mfsu to your power. Unlike the units (mfe), tramsformers have 5 output sides and 1 input side. the wrench changes the input direction of the transformer, and the direction transformers should be pointing is towards the cable inputting energy. Transformers don't modify the voltage to a certain level, they reduce the voltage level ONLY( a Medium Voltage(MV) transformer changes High voltage(HV) to MV). So you cannot use a MV transformer to make low voltage(LV) into MV. You have to downgrade the voltage, as in you have to turn HV into MV before you turn MV into LV. The wiring and machines using power will blow up if you try to skip the MV transformer and go straight from high to low.

For solar flowers, you can make them bigger, but you must keep in mind, copper only transfers 32 EU/t, so if you make a giant array of only copper and bat boxes, you WILL lose energy guarenteed. Also, Bigger solar panel arrays are resource intensive, so making a big array early on can be a waste of effort, since you need so much iron, I would wait untill you have a good pile before starting construction. A nuclear device can also be alot cheaper comparitively. But, this makes power daily, and when set up right, can fill up an mfsu within 2 days operation. Thats more power than your machines need, except for the tesla, teleport, teraformer, or mass fabricator. 1 day is usually enough to keep a wall of machines running day and night. And you dont need constant maintenance from the nuclear reactor.

This solar flower is my design, but the solar flower idea isn't mine, just the bigger 1, and im not 100% sure if it is price effective. But i dont waste any powered gained through this array.
You could also make the whole thing of iron cables and mfsu's, but that would be wasteful because if you have the resources to make such a grid, would you really need the grid in the 1st place?
What I do is have 1 mfsu in the center, since it holds, gains, and shoots the most energy of all storage units. surround it with iron cable, since this will be the area with the most need 4 power. Make the iron around in a + just as the flower is made, and at each end, I would place an mfe outputting towards the center. Mfsu's here would be wasteful, since the main mfsu can only accept 512EU/t, meaning of the 4 cables(each carrying 512EU/t) only 1 cable's worth(512) would be accepted, the other 3 are wasted here. After you placed the mfe's, gold cable should be coming out each side of each mfe, since the mfe accepts 128, iron is a waste, and copper is too wasteful. After the cable, comes bat boxes on each gold cable, with copper going out from each direction of each bat box, except up or down. Now, the reason I downgrade with HV in the middle and LV from the outer rim is because the power flows inward toward the mfsu, and at the outer rim, there isn't much energy at 1st. the energy is collected at the bat boxes, then the energy is sent inward. As it goes inward, more panels are joining the flow, so there has to be more space(in the cable) then the storage unit is pumping out.

Lastly, instead of using fibre cables, I put down cable from the main storage unit, then a storage unit every 3rd or 4th spot, for multiple reasons. 1st, the energy lost every 5th cable isn't lost since there isn't a 4th cable, and the storage units act as an extension of the main base power, since it can be stored in the transport line. Just beware the power conversions, they get real tricky at times, and if you use a mfsu, remember you must use a transformer to change the voltage, HV, to MV BEFORE changing it to LV if your planning on powering your base. Because most machines run on LV.
</spoiler>
personally i think this is mostly a load(no offence)
zulu_217
first and formost transformers dont need to be set up to transform up you just need a wire going to the storage e.g
batbox->lv transformer transforming up->mfe = bad (waste of resources)
batbox-> mfe = good still works.
and a assortment of other things are wrong here.

First, Cables do not act like Redstone, you can not place them diagonally to travel in a stair formation(improper placemen). They must be placed orthogonally(correct placement).

(added by tomahawk232)

I like how the menu has been newly split up, however, I'd appreciate it if the clunky "Tools" section was divided into multiple sections like "Armor", "Devices" or "Gadgets", "Cells", and other smaller, organized chunks. --VelardAmakar 02:19, 14 September 2011 (CEST)
Wiki Content
I was just wondering if the main focus of this wiki is to be Alblaka's words, which can be read on his forum post, or more clearly defined, less humorous specifics about the content of his IC mod? Jasperzorin 18:12, 15 April 2011 (CEST)
:I am also curious, if much of the content is supplied from Alblaka's post, then it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of use to the wiki. Also, what is our stance on some of the 'secret' recipes? I know Alblaka has expressed that he doesn't want them revealed, but I also feel that if we take a more objective bent to our pages then we have a duty to reveal all information - see for instance the 'secret' Faith rune on http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Runecraft Lhowon 14:37, 27 April 2011 (CEST)
Templates
Part of what makes http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki (the Minecraft wiki) so easy to read are the templates that host images and brief descriptions about blocks and items as well as those show-casing recipes on the crafting table and the furnace as well. :*That is not the sub-wiki link, that is THE Minecraft wiki link. I learned almost everything I needed to know about Minecraft from their wiki before I even purchased the game. They are the ones I try to emulate in my posts, I hope you would agree with me that they do things pretty well.
:*Look, I am aiming for the benefit of the IC users. This is not all about you, me, this wiki, or Alblaka.
:*Believe it or not, I am trying to help. I am trying to see if I can transfer my work to this space (easier for you and I both, not to mention taking attention away from an already nearly-completed wiki) or if you would have me start over from scratch (meaning I would not feel any need to move away from the sub-wiki space). If you take a moment to look at this from my perspective, I made my first significant online contribution ever because I saw a void and wanted to fill it. It took me 3 weeks of hard, hard work. Hopefully you can see I don't want that to go to waste, whether that's adding that work to what you have here or maintaining the sub-wiki until this official one is up to full-speed. - Jasperzorin 19:32, 15 April 2011 (CEST)
|-
|Now, Minecraft has three Elements.
Mine, mine and craft.

1. Mine = it's YOUR world

2. Mine = mine ressources

3. Craft = craft things

<p style='text-align:justify;'>
Which one is the major point is left open for discussion. However, for ME the main point is MINING and CRAFTING.
</p>
<p style='text-align:justify;'>
Therefore, i created a mod that enhanches both:
</p>
<p style='text-align:justify;'>
Industrial Crafts adds various new blocks, items and devices, supposed to advance the industrial aspect of Minecraft to the next level. You get better Furnances, new fuels, electric energy and some more stuff further explained below.
</p>
<p style='text-align:justify;'>
All new add-ons are supposed to be balanced and should usually be balanced, as well. If you think some parts of the mod are just overpowered, post it here, discuss it and it will may be changed.
</p>
<p style='text-align:justify;'>
Please take note, that this is a Tier 2 Mod. Tier 2 means, quite all new blocks/items/recipes are not useable right at the start of a new world, but take quite a decent amount of ressources. You can, of course, start a new world, but if you want to test the new thingies right away, i recommend loading a advanced world (where you already possess some ressources).
</p>
<p style='text-align:justify;'>
However, keep in mind that a loaded world will be modified and cannot be used without the mod anymore (make some Backups). As well, you will need to explore new chunks and build new mines to find Tin/Copper Ore, as it needs new chunks to be generated.
</p>
|}
</div><div id='Help' style='width:28%; position:absolute; left:40%; top:20%; padding:1%;text-align:center;'>

<big>You need some Support?</big>

<big>You want to make a Suggestion?</big>
Out of interest how do I get my server onto the wiki? Right now it's 24/7?
In future this information should be supplied (eg contact x@x.x to be on this list) or do I just add my self??
Forum post about IC2 Wiring: forum.industrial-craft.net

First, Cables do not act like Redstone, you can not place them diagonally to travel in a stair formation(improper placemen). They must be placed orthogonally(correct placement).

//insert a pic of improper and proper placement.

Machines will accept power input in the form of a wire from all 6 sides.

<span style="color:#0066FF">You lose EU if the current in the cable travels for too long, losing 1 EU upon reaching the 4th block, then another 1 EU for every 3 blocks after that. but if you use the most advanced wire, "Fibre wire," you can achieve a length of 19(?)</span> side note should i include the most expesive wire in the tutorial? probly not. will i remove it? maby. :A)

This setup will not work as the BatBox is not a splitter and it doesnt have two outputs., it will accept input from 5 sides at the same time but will only output on the output face marked with dot.

To properly use a MFE, you need to use a [[LV_Transformer|Low Voltage Transformer. the MFE is used to scale the voltage up and the Low voltage transformer to scale it back down. Quite similar to real life and your local power grid.doing this increases the range of the power but needs a better Cable. The energy loss is less because you are sending less packets that are larger, they still lose EU over the cable but you lose less.

Next is series of machines, and current splitting.

(added by tomahawk232)

First, Cables do not act like Redstone, you can not place them diagonally to travel in a stair formation(improper placemen). They must be placed orthogonally(correct placement).

//insert a pic of improper and proper placement.

Machines will accept power input in the form of a wire from all 6 sides.

<span style="color:#0066FF">You lose EU if the current in the cable travels for too long, losing 1 EU upon reaching the 5th block, then another 1 EU for every 5 blocks after that. but if you use the most advanced wire fibre wire you can achieve a length of 19(?)</span>

This setup will not work as the BatBox is not a splitter and it doesnt have two outputs., it will accept input from 5 sides at the same time but will only output on the output face marked with dot.

(added by tomahawk232)

After the 1st, there's 25 power left, after the 2nd there's 17, after the 2rd there's 8, which doesn't leave enough for the 4th. adding a 2nd energy box on the other end would fix this, but beware the price of each machine.

i know i haven't done a lot of work on this i am still going to do it i just send too much time on minecraft instead of the tutorial i will try to finish by ether saturday or sunday

:2. some of your additions sound a little wrong like wires burn out if toomuch eu/t is pushed through them not limit.
e.g i have a mfe->transformer(lv)->battbox connected with copper. the copperwire between the mfe and transformer turns to smoke while the wire between the transformer and battbox is fine

:3. the part about transformer is pritty good (i havent read it entirly jusy skimed it(ill read it in the morning))but the part i did read was good and a worthy addition to the tut.
edit i take it back partly transformers dont need to upgrade but can be setup to ugprade with redstone current in the form of a adjacent redtorch/lever/button(pritty useless with this it needs to say powered(redstone) not toggled on) and it will transform up without the need of expesive mfsu and mfes.

:4.) (<-looks like a witches face) well ther isnt a four im just bored :/

:2. some of your additions sound a little wrong like wires burn out if toomuch eu/t is pushed through them not limit.
e.g i have a mfe->transformer(lv)->battbox connected with copper. the copperwire between the mfe and transformer turns to smoke while the wire between the transformer and battbox is fine

:3. the part about transformer is pritty good (i havent read it entirly jusy skimed it(ill read it in the morning))but the part i did read was good and a worthy addition to the tut.
Possible solution for Recycler not processing Wooden Sticks with Buildcraft pipes
Maybe the Recycler could be made to accept Wooden Sticks and convert them into an equal number of Wooden Sticks? This would simulate them simply passing through the machine and avoid clogging up Buildcraft pipes. --Trifler 03:16, 11 October 2011 (CEST)
Just for confirmation... The recycler not processing sticks is NOT a bug, right? The bug is the way buildcraft handles it? I found code in TileEntityRecycler.java explicitly forbidding it, and I'm guessing it's because one can easily convert all their planks to sticks for twice as much recycling.
First, I disagree with your decision to simply delete the old tutorial.
Second, I disagree with even mentioning that IC2 works well with existing worlds, especially in a tutorial.
Third, when you tell people to go mining, you should make your list of Copper, Iron, Rubber, etc. include the ingredients necessary for the Generator, as the Extractor is completely useless without it and they'll have to go back out to mine again based on your current list.

- I also recommend not having the tutorial reader use a cable to connect the Generator to the Extractor. Just place them side-by-side.<br>
- Don't mention Industrial Diamonds in a tutorial.<br>
- It would be good to change it up so that the tutorial recommends upgrading the Furnace to an Iron Furnace right up near the top, then has the player make a Macerator (Resin seems much easier to collect in 1.15 than in 1.00), and then convert the Iron Furnace into a Generator. Use the now functional Macerator to build a new Iron Furnace, then make an Extractor, and possibly continue on to an Electric Furnace. --Trifler 11:53, 13 October 2011 (CEST)
:I decided to write a new version of the tutorial when I discovered this mod, tried to follow that tutorial, and got hopelessly lost in its disorganization and bad wording. None of the images in that article should be there, A) we don't need to see some random person's "pretty house" to learn how to make machines, B) those screenshots are using a custom texture pack, which is confusing and misrepresents the mod, C) the article insults the reader near the bottom. I admit it's a bit rude to just overwrite it, but you've gotta be kidding me if you honestly don't think it needs some work. <font color="#FFFFFF">(And about crediting the tutorials to single users on the download page, that's appropriate if the links are to user subpages (if you even want to open that can of worms), or if they're offsite, but right now it doesn't make sense in context.)</font>
I think it should either be removed entirely (so readers can figure out their own requirements based on what they want to make) or each section should have all the necessary materials totaled up and prepended to it.
Nuclear Reactor
Please let's not put stuff about Nuclear Reactors in a "First Steps" tutorial. --Trifler 00:57, 3 November 2011 (CET)
my 2 bits
:first off it is stated that it is useing a tex pack at the top, soartex
:second texpacks dont modify mod textures unless they are build to do it and soartex isnt
:third i agree with not stating nuclear reactor unless its being used to show thats there is a tonne more to this mod
:fourth i do beleve that the extractor should be made first to make the wires cheaper and faster to make
:fifth the wire to the macerator and extractor is a good idea for expansion because the gen may defult to the extractor imstead of the wire
:otherwise the rest is fine with me
:btw it would have been better if you listed the problems instead of making a deal out of it
:and ask to fix it instead of complaining
:p.s i am not aiming to insult anyone with my above opinions
