The Pump is a tier 1 machine capable of pumping liquids into an Universal Fluid Cell.

The Pump can be used on its own or be placed next to a Miner to pump water and lava encountered while mining.
Once a liquid has been sucked up, it can be pumped out directly to an adjacent machine using the Fluid Ejector Upgrade or will fill an empty bucket, a Universal Fluid Cell placed in the Pump's top item slot.

Cells or buckets are not required to use the Pump because it has an internal storage.

The Pump can pump from the direction that the "grate" texture is facing. Use a wrench to change the position of the grate.
Before build 538, Geothermal Generators supplied with lava from pumps gain a 50% EU boost, at the cost of 200 EU for the pump. All you need to do is to place an Empty Cell on the top slot of the pump.
The pump is also no longer limited to the block just beneath it, and can pull distant liquids.

Also removed in build 538 is the pump's ability to automatically supply an adjacent compressor with water to make snowballs. This functionality is bugged in IC² 1.64
The Kinetic Wind Generator (or Wind Turbine) is an upgrade of the old Windmill. It generates energy from wind power. The Wind Turbine requires maintenance, as the rotor will need to be replaced.

A rotor is required to run a Wind Turbine. Once a rotor is placed inside the GUI, the turbine is given sufficient space, and the wind level is strong enough for the rotor, the Wind Turbine will generate Kinetic Energy. This can be converted into EU with a Kinetic Generator placed next to the turbine.
KU output = wind strength * output modifier * rotor efficiency

Arguments in the formula:

Wind strength: the strength of wind, can be test by Windmeter;

Output modifier: Used for control the balance of different energies, is 1.0 by default;

Motor efficiency: Related to rotor type.

Wind Strength
The wind strength, measured in MCW, is affected by 3 factors: Height, Weather, and a Random Factor.

Height is a main factor of wind strength.
Below y = 64, there is never enough wind, and the generator will not create EU at all.
Wind is strongest at around y = 160.
There is very little wind at y=255, hence no point attempting to run a wind turbine that high.

Weather also give boosts.
Rainy weather will yield a 25% boost.
Stormy weather will yield a 50% boost.

At every update, the wind direction may change +18 degree or -18 degree or not change. The three choices have same probabilities.
There's no evidence that the wind direction will affect EU generation.

The easiest way to check the current wind level in an area is by using a Windmeter.

Spacing
For the most part, the only real space requirements of the Kinetic Wind Generator are the rotor blades.

*The rotor blades must remain free from obstruction by blocks or other rotors. (Figure 1)
*A Wind Turbine can also become obstructed if there is another Wind Turbine behind it. (Figure 2)
*This will occur if there is another KWG behind it and in range of the rotors up to 22 blocks away. Specifically, the distance is 3x the radius of the rotors. Because of this, it is considered impractical to have Wind Turbines set up as such, instead it much more preferred to have them in a line (Figure 3) or in a grid (Figure 4).
<br clear=all/>

Rotors
The efficiency of rotor equipped by the Wind Turbine will strongly affect the output of the generator.
Each rotor has a different material cost, durability, and wind speed requirement.
This means that even the lowly Wood Rotor can be useful in some circumstances where wind levels are not sufficient to run a larger rotor.
Because of this, it is considered impractical to have Wind Turbines set up as such, instead it much more preferred to have them in a line (Figure 3) or in a grid (Figure 4).

Output modifier: Used for control the balance of different energies, is 1.0 by default;

About Wind

(Figure 2)

Wind strength: the strength of wind, can be test by Windmeter;

Output modifier: Used for control the balance of different energies, is 1.0 by default;

Motor efficiency: Related to rotor type.

About Wind

Kinetic Unit Output
KU output = wind strength * output modifier * rotor efficiency

Arguments in the formula:

Wind strength: the strength of wind, can be test by Windmeter;

Output modifier: Used for control the balance of different energies, is 1.0 by default;

Motor efficiency: Related to rotor type.

About Wind

<br clear=all/>

Rotors
The type of rotor equipped by the Wind Turbine will strongly affect the output of the generator. Each rotor has a different material cost, durability, and wind speed requirement. This means that even the lowly Wood Rotor can be useful in some circumstances where wind levels are not sufficient to run a larger rotor.
The Advanced Miner is an upgraded version of the Miner. Unlike the Miner, it does not require Mining Pipe or a Mining Drill to function, relying solely on power. An additional feature of the Advanced Miner is a black/whitelist function. The mode of this can be toggled by a button in the GUI. In Blacklist Mode, any blocks placed inside the GUI will not be mined by the Advanced Miner, and will be ignored. In Whitelist Mode, any block inside the GUI will be the only blocks mined, and all other blocks will be ignored. The blocks specified are based on what they drop, but are also compatible with Silk Touched ores. For example, on Blacklist Mode, when Redstone Dust or Redstone Ore is in the GUI, no Redstone Ore will be mined. It is worth noting that the slots inside the GUI are not storage spaces, they are only used for the filters. A Chest or similar inventory placed above the Advanced Miner will automatically collect the items, not needing an Ejector Upgrade.
Usage
To activate the Advanced Miner, simply put OD Scanner or OV Scanner in the scanner slot in its inventory and connect it to a power source. Once supplied with power, the Advanced Miner will dig up all blocks beneath it in an area centered around itself. The size of the area will be 33x33 when using an OD Scanner or 65x65 when using an OV Scanner. An inventory placed above the Advanced Miner is necessary to output the items. Additionally, there is a button that looks like Coal Ore in the GUI, clicking that will toggle Silk Touch mode, however when Silk Touch mode is enabled, the Advanced Miner will consume significantly more power.
Any redstone mined by the Advanced miner wil be used for EU generation unless the lower slot is occupied with a battery or a energy crystal.

It is worth noting that inserting Overclockers will NOT increase mining speed, but instead they will increase the scanning speed of blocks in the black/whitelist.

The Advanced Miner will retain 80% of its stored EU when removed with a Wrench.

Liquids which would block the Miner are not a problem for the Advanced Miner. No Pump is required.
Details
Advanced Miner will consume 512 EU per operation.

Advanced Miner will firstly charge tools, and secondly mine. We recommend you to charge your tools before putting it into your Advanced Miner to get a quicker start. (BTW, I think this is a bug, and could someone check it?)

Each augmentation upgrade will provide 5 more blocks available. However, augmentation upgrade is not available.

A redstone input will pause Advanced Miner from mining, but will reserve the mining progress.

|A2=Shaft (Iron)|B2=Machine|C2=Shaft (Iron)
|Output=Kinetic Wind Generator
}}

Kinetic Unit Output
KU output = wind strength * output modifier * rotor efficiency

Arguments in the formula:

Wind strength: the strength of wind, can be test by Windmeter;

Output modifier: Used for control the balance of different energies, is 1.0 by default;

Motor efficiency: Related to rotor type.

About Wind
The wind strength, measured in MCW, is affected by 3 factors: Height, Weather, and Chance. The higher up in the world you are, the higher the wind level. Below y = 64, there is never enough wind to be used, and the generator will not function at all. Weather will also give boosts; Rainy weather will yield a 20% boost to normal wind levels, and stormy weather will yield a 50% boost. The final factor of chance makes the wind strength vary randomly, however there is a limited range of variation.

The easiest way to check the current wind level in an area is by using a Windmeter.

Wind is strongest at around y = 160. There is very little wind towards the build limit of y = 255, hence no point attempting to run a wind turbine that high.

<br clear=all/>

Wood Rotor
The Wood Rotor lasts 3 hours and requires wind levels between 10 and 60 MCW. It has a wingspan of 2 blocks. It takes about 20 Wood and 1 Iron to make one of these.
