It took some time to get this idea, but finally we found it out and we fooled nearly the whole community with a faked FBI Anti-Piracy Warning.
A dark night, you don't have any torches left, and no fuel to heat your house...
There's a forest nearby, but even if you have an old, rusty axe...
THERE ARE FREAKIN' ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE!
Your solution: The C-32 Chainsaw!!

Yes, you heard right, we designed a frikking chainsaw!

It's built with the same components as the Mining Drill, and is as well completely compatible with T500-Rechargeable Energy Storation Units.

With a chainsaw, you never need to fear a dark night without wood, because you can just run out there and cut everything down. The forest! The zombies! That neighbour you've been meaning to kill! ANYTHING!

You can even cut your way through those pesky Cave Spider webs you hate so much, and even get string out of them while you're at it! This amazing contraption can also cut tree leaf blocks useful for making bio fuel&mdash;you'll never run out of juice for your jetpack again! (Do note that the chainsaw is SUCH an effective tool that it often completely shreds any potential saplings that may have dropped from the tree.) Along with zombie heads, the chainsaw also can quickly remove wiring.
And all this at an amazing speed, HAYO!
Of course, the high quality of our products makes the C-32 Chainsaw completely unbreakable, and it will never need sharpening (though you will need an energy recharge here and there).
Shearing
Since 1.70 the Chainsaw now also works as shears. Just right-click on a sheep. (Please make sure to right click, as we cannot be held responsible for the inadvertent disassembly of sheep due to left clicking.)

Have you ever been bugged by Creepers blowing up your Solar Panels while you were cleaning them? Couldn't be bothered to dig an Anti-Creeper trench?

Then use this, the ultimate, low-cost, high-efficiency, lazy-guy way of keeping your house & home safe: Force Fields!

A Force Field Generator will, upon receiving power, instantly create a giant dome of pure Energy around your house, in a cube-like sphere.

Even better: The more energy you supply, up to 256 EUs, the bigger the dome will become. Bigger = Better = Win = Creeper sad

As well, you could apply Redstone to the ForceField Generator to temporarily shut it off without removing any wires.

Now, we assume your base is shielded and you have just come back from cutting down some trees... but how do you get back in?

Simple. Use the FreqTrans to remotely open a gap in the shield dome: To do this, you'll need to store the Field Generator's frequency by right-clicking it (BEFORE you leave the dome, obviously!)

Then, you can at any time click one of the 6 gate-shield blocks to open up the shield wall and disable the Field Generator temporarily.

The gate-shield blocks are located once on each side of the cube, always on the same axis as the Field Generator.

<small>Federal Regulations require us to warn you: The shield dome is NOT impenetrable, though the blocks are extremely resistant and regenerate extremely fast.

Contact with the dome shield is not recommended.

It is possible to 'drop' through the shield by using your mining laser on the upper part of the shield you are standing on.
</small>

Note: The Field Generator isn't implemented in IndustrialCraft² yet.
Have you ever been bugged by Creepers blowing up your Solar Panels while you were cleaning them? Couldn't bother to dig an Anti-Creeper trench?

Iron Scaffolds sturdier versions of wooden Scaffolds.

They still need to be supported by other scaffolds below, but they're able to extend 5 blocks out from the the blocks that support them.

They are easy to set up / demolish and even act as ladders for reaching the building height easily.

As of version 1.90, they currently cannot be sprayed with CF.

Usage
Rightclick: Places one Scaffold (as normal)

Leftclick: Places one Scaffold on top of the scaffold you clicked on. <small>(This only works if you have already placed one Scaffold)</small>

Reinforcing Iron Scaffolds
You may reinforce Scaffolds by using an additional Iron Fence.

Right-clicking on an existing scaffold with an iron fence will reinforce it. This will consume 1 iron fence. The scaffold being reinforced must also be part of a pillar of scaffolds connected to the ground.

Once a scaffold has been reinforced, you may then place additional scaffolds adjacent to it, over air blocks, up to 12 blocks away.

<span class="pops">forum.industrial-craft.net</span>

Note that this type of scaffold (due to it being made out of iron) needs to be broken by a pickaxe to retrieve it. You will also get the iron fence back from reinforced scaffolding. Thus, nothing is wasted when reinforcing a scaffold.
