I am co-owner and admin of PSP's Official Server. Currently under construction, the server has several games, and is based heavily on earning your way up in society. We have installed bukkit recently, and will be using protection plug-ins. The server originally was a true vanilla server, but after some thought, we realized we couldn't protect our server without the use of certain plugins. We hope to use AGC to help keep potential griefers out. Thank you for your time.

rocketman679 - GFF Servers
I run a collection of servers with different configurations, currently a no-whitelist Pure Vanilla server (GFF Free Server), a vanilla whitelist server (GFF Whitelist) and a currently invitation only BC+IC2 server that will probably also get Bukkit in the near future, and have an open application. I have an extensive list of griefers/hackers in my banlist with over 1000 entries, and I would like to contribute in any way I can.

I have a very skilled admin staff helping run my servers. The skill comes with the territory, the GFF Free Server is the most popular vanilla server on the web, and vanilla servers in general are a honeypot for griefers. I also offer my own wrapper, the NINJASCRIPT VanillaGuard System, to anyone who wants to keep a server safe and running without needing mods. www.gffserver.com Rocketman679 21:37, 11 January 2012 (CET)
BigDaddyEcig - The Unexpected Server
This server is a family effort with my kid, Asellia, and myself as the owner/admins of this server. We use a whitelist, but we refuse hardly anyone. We check for previous bannings, but if they answer the "prior bannings" inquiry on the application honestly and it is just once or twice for a questionable reason then we may give them a chance on our server. I hate griefers but Asellia is a little more trusting and forgiving than I am. personally, I have been using the internet since before the web even existed. Back in the days of Gopher and connecting via Unix shells and the like. So I am a bit jaded from a long internet history.

The Unexpected Server is, we hope at least, a fun but involved server. We have a lot of MODS, but each of them is there for a reason. We did not just decide to put on every mod we could think of. We have IC2 of course, buildcraft, Towny, iConomy, Redstone2, heroes, mcmmo, dungeonbuilder, worldguard, worldedit, chestshop, power converter, minefactory reloaded and quite a few more as well. We are aiming for an RPG, Adventure type server with a focus towards community building in the form of towns and nations. Allowing the players to setup their own shops integrated with iConomy will allow the economy to be shaped by the players. Creating trade between towns and nations. Eventually we hope to be large enough to begin making use the WAR features of the Towny plugin.

We have invested a LOT of time, a lot of money and a lot of effort into building this server and we are almost 100% ready to declare us OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. We just need to finalize some settings on a certain plugin that just got updated. :) Then we will generate the new world, and begin the LOGN process of loading and pasting all the towns and homes from the other map which we saved via our plugins. This way no one loses what they have built so far.

SooOOOOooo... With all that going on, the thought of some griefer coming on my server and destroying my hard work, Asellia's hard work and most of all our players' hard work REALLY ticks me off. I hate griefers. They have no purpose or self pride so they can't stand to see anyone else accomplishing anything. I want to join your community and do whatever I can to help prevent griefing.

Perhaps someday I can see my dream plugin come into being. A plugin that allows we admins to link our servers together in many ways. We can be contacted at BigDaddyEcig@Unexpected.Beastnode.net, Asellia@Unexpected.Beastnode.net or on our website at http://www.unexpected.beastnode.net. Our server has a whitelist because we are not in a perfect world. :(
I have a server with the latest IndustrialCraft2, BuildCraft and RedPower 1.8.1 Bukkit Builds we are expecting greifers to start when they find things like our private Admin homes and other peoples homes. I believe that this is the best idea for server owners to keep track of banned players and greifers and help the community stay free from trouble.
AGC server mod?
One thing I'd like to do is make an AGC server mod to automatically share the banlists, but I'm never able to catch Feanturi on IRC.

Anyone supports that idea?

* maybe just dump into MCBans? I honestly don't know much about how it works exactly (not being a bukkit user myself) but I would think that would work. Syncing a banlist with a public one on the web is a one liner in 'nix. Rocketman679 21:39, 11 January 2012 (CET)
Hi there I am new to running a modded server and although it is small at the moment it is growing. the server is whitelisted but as with BigDaddyEcig on The Unexpected Server we don't really turn anyone down as long as they are not total morons :). the problem with this is that there is always the danger of letting a griefer in albeit a smaller one.
allowing me access to your ban list would be awesome, there isn't really anything else to say, I kind of like my stuff and the time I've put into the server and my creations.
you can contact me at admin@hardcraft.co.uk I do check this. or of course on my server website http://hardcraft.co.uk

A Geothermal Generator works on the same basic principle as normal Generators do.

Geothermal generators use the heat of Lava to generate electricity. With the release of IC², the generators accept both Lava Buckets and Lava Cells. The latter are stackable and thus require less maintenance, but cost Tin to produce.

Note for those using Buildcraft: Currently the Geothermal Generator will not accept connections from Buildcraft's Waterproof Pipes, nor will it accept Lava if placed directly adjacent to a Buildcraft Pump. It has been confirmed by Alblaka that an upcoming release will allow compatability between geothermals and buildcraft waterproof pipes.

Usage
As with all Generators, the lava-based fuel of choice is inserted into the lower slot, and optionally an RE Battery in the upper slot. The Geothermal Generator will charge the battery or output power at a rate of 20 EU/t.

A single Geothermal Generator can store 24 units of lava - thus, inserting a full stack of Lava Cells will instantly use up 24 of them and fill out the lava gauge.
How do you defend your well-terraformed, expensive industrial landscape from pesky animals/creepers/weirdos/thieves? Try a TESLA COIL!

This is it: THE latest piece of defensive technology available for free usage without the need to buy licenses.

A Tesla Coil, already used by the Soviets to defend against the combined Allied army in the second altered-realm WW, is highly effective, medium-ranged and absolutely deadly.

First of all, however, you need to charge the Tesla Coil with 5000 EU. Once charged, the Tesla Coil is on stand-by. To ACTIVATE it, apply a Redstone current.

As long as this current is applied, the Tesla Coil will drain 2 EUs constantly to fuel it's extremely efficient targeting system.

This system will target the first living object (we will consider undead alive in this matter) within a range of ~4 blocks.

Please take note, we do not take any responsibility for zapping any part of your family/friends, including yourself.

Then the Tesla Coil will unleash the power of technology in the form of an extremely powerful, wall-penetrating and lethal energy bolt. Of course this will deplete the energy reserve of the Tesla Coil, which will thus need to be recharged again.

is the easiest set-up for a working and fully functional Tesla Coil, that will kill every mob approaching you, once you trigger the Pressure Plate.
A nuke behaves similarly to TNT, however the explosion is a crater 5 times bigger than TNT.

Use the Nuke wisely...

Attempts at using the nuke in SMP using all different methods of triggering have shown it still doesn't work correctly and neither does ITNT.

Reinforced stone/glass is the most resistant material next to bedrock. Encasing a nuke in several layers should prevent most damage. Because of balance reasons, obsidian is nerfed down to a blast resistance of 60, removing its effectiveness.
Each consumed can of food heals one heart directly, instead of restoring hunger like normal foods. This makes Canned Food a benefit to explorers in dangerous situations!
The Induction Furnace is an advanced version of the Electro Furnace. It has the ability to process 2 stacks of items simultaneously. Doing so will also save 50% of the energy that would have been used had every stack been smelted by itself.

Another feature of the Induction Furnace is its ability to build up heat. At higher heat levels, the Furnace both smelts faster, and uses less energy per smelting action.
The smeltable items are put into the two top slots, and then the Furnace is supplied with EU. Note that the furnace can accept both Low Voltage and Medium Voltage (up to 128 EU/s). The processed items appear in the two rightmost slots.

During its operation, the Furnace will build up heat, up to 100%. When idle, the heat will slowly dissipate back to 0%. It is possible to slowly build up the heat by providing a redstone signal to the Furnace. In that case, the Furnace will consume a constant of 1 EU/s to build up the heat.
Using Single use batterys is more efficent than burning the coal.
Coal holds 4000 Eu making dust costs 625 Eu + 500 for the Redstone = 5125 Eu
You only have to think of whats worth more 2875 Eu and the portabiliy or 1 Cable.
Cables are the most useful Wiring mechanism introduced since... now... Redstone Wires, i guess. <!---->

You can link Cables to anything in any angle, as long as the cable-sides keep touching each other. However, caution is advised, no one likes shunt faults.

All futurely introduced energy-generating machines will be capable of emitting electric current. They will only do this if not busy with something else, though.

If however, some sort of Generator is creating energy, without actually using it, it will start emitting electric current. This can be absorbed and transmitted via Cables.

A cable can theoretically transmit current in any direction, but if you power one end of a long cable, the power will always run to the other end, you can be assured.

If you now have a generator, connect it directly to an energy-using machine via cables, the generator will power the machine. For example an Electric Furnace.

Electric machines have only minimal storage, thus they cannot "charge up" or "save energy" for real. Some machines, however, will require some more energy to start running. This means that it will take a few seconds of laid electric current for the machine to start working again.

As well, not every generator will emit the same power of current. Even more, transporting energy via cables is not perfect and thus the emit'd power will become less and less potent, the further it travels.

A good aspect about cables, however, is that you can SPLIT them. If a current finds more than one possible way to go, the energy will be split in half and distributed to both new ways equally.

We do not, however, recommend trying to split up a cable into 3 lanes at once. Experience has shown cables will melt if you try to do so. You can, however, split one of the 2 cables a second time, resulting in a total of 3 lanes.

This way, you can possibly even power multiple machines with a single generator, HAYO!
