The Reactor Chamber has 2 main uses: it can be used to craft a Nuclear Reactor, and it can be attached to one. Doing so will increase the available space in the reactor by 1 column and increase the reactor's maximum heat tolerance by 1000. Up to 6 Reactor Chambers can be attached to a Nuclear Reactor, increasing space available by 36 tiles in total. As well, Reactor Chambers provide additional cooling for the reactor they are attached to, -2 heat/tick.
The Automated Miner is the lazy man's answer to mining.

Why spend all that time down in dangerous caves when with a little EU, and a few bits and pieces, you can mine ore from the surface!

Requirements
To run the Automated Miner requires 4 things:

Energy: From a cable or portable sources

Pipe: Mining Pipe is consumed to dig down. Returned once the miner retracts

Drill bit: Mining Drill or Diamond Drill

Scanner: OD Scanner or OV Scanner

Operation
To use the miner insert a Drill Bit into the top-left, a Scanner in the top-right and your Mining Pipes into the top-middle.

The miner will consume the pipes to dig down extracting ore it finds in its scan range(See Scanning Range section).

Any ore found will be brought up and ejected onto the surface next to the miner. Placing a chest next to the miner will result in the ore being stored in it instead.

Once the miner has finished you can retract the pipes by removing the Drill bit. Also you may place blocks (Dirt etc.) in the pipe slot to fill in the shaft when it retracts.

Scanning range
A miner with an OD Scanner mines all ore in a 5x5 block area around it.

However a miner with an OV Scanner mines all ore in a massive 9x9 block area!

Liquids
If the miner hits water or lava while tunneling it will stop unless they are cleared.

Alternatively if you place a Pump next to the miner (filled with empty cells) it will extract the liquids for you, storing the lava in the cells for power generation!

Recipe
Energy Costs
Rough power costs for one operation:

Mining Drill: ~450-470 EU

Diamond Drill: ~880-900 EU

OD Scanner: ~65-75 EU

OV Scanner: ~165-190 EU

So the cost to drill down 1 level with a Mining Drill + OD Scanner is ~460+~70 = 530

And the cost to drill down 1 level with a Diamond Drill + OD Scanner is ~990+~70 = 960

Diamond Drills are far more expensive but far faster. ~4 times as fast.

EU/Tick:

A miner with a Mining Drill and OD Scanner will use ~2-3 EU/t.

A miner with a Diamond Drill and OV Scanner will use ~20-24 EU/t due to the higher cost per tool and faster mining speed.

Other Notes
Miners can not mine through items like torches, redstone wiring etc.

Bugs
Miners can mysteriously mine bedrock. Discovered when using a diamond-tipped drill and OD scanner while battery-feeding the miner.
Also, what is our stance on some of the 'secret' recipes? I know Alblaka has expressed that he doesn't want them revealed, but I also feel that if we take a more objective bent to our pages then we have a duty to reveal all information - see for instance the 'secret' Faith rune on http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Runecraft Lhowon 14:37, 27 April 2011 (CEST)
Part of what makes http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki (the Minecraft wiki) so easy to read are the templates that host images and brief descriptions about blocks and items as well as those show-casing recipes on the crafting table and the furnace as well. I learned almost everything I needed to know about Minecraft from their wiki before I even purchased the game. They are the ones I try to emulate in my posts, I hope you would agree with me that they do things pretty well.
:*Look, I am aiming for the benefit of the IC users. This is not all about you, me, this wiki, or Alblaka.
:*Believe it or not, I am trying to help. I am trying to see if I can transfer my work to this space (easier for you and I both, not to mention taking attention away from an already nearly-completed wiki) or if you would have me start over from scratch (meaning I would not feel any need to move away from the sub-wiki space). If you take a moment to look at this from my perspective, I made my first significant online contribution ever because I saw a void and wanted to fill it. It took me 3 weeks of hard, hard work. Hopefully you can see I don't want that to go to waste, whether that's adding that work to what you have here or maintaining the sub-wiki until this official one is up to full-speed. - Jasperzorin 19:32, 15 April 2011 (CEST)
Now, Minecraft has three Elements.
Mine, mine and craft.

1. Mine = it's YOUR world

2. Mine = mine ressources

3. Craft = craft things

Which one is the major point is left open for discussion. However, for ME the main point is MINING and CRAFTING.

Therefore, i created a mod that enhanches both:

Industrial Crafts adds various new blocks, items and devices, supposed to advance the industrial aspect of Minecraft to the next level. You get better Furnances, new fuels, electric energy and some more stuff further explained below.

All new add-ons are supposed to be balanced and should usually be balanced, as well. If you think some parts of the mod are just overpowered, post it here, discuss it and it will may be changed.

Please take note, that this is a Tier 2 Mod. Tier 2 means, quite all new blocks/items/recipes are not useable right at the start of a new world, but take quite a decent amount of ressources. You can, of course, start a new world, but if you want to test the new thingies right away, i recommend loading a advanced world (where you already possess some ressources).

However, keep in mind that a loaded world will be modified and cannot be used without the mod anymore (make some Backups). As well, you will need to explore new chunks and build new mines to find Tin/Copper Ore, as it needs new chunks to be generated.

You need some Support?
Solar Flowers
For those of you looking for videos on how to make Solar Flowers, you do NOT need a switch cable to make them. Use Copper Wire to connect all the Solar Panels to one wire, then run it down to an MFE Transmitter. From there, run 2x Insulated Gold Cable (at least 3 units) out of the output face of the storage device (the MFE) into an LV Transformer with the three dots facing the Gold Cable. Then run Copper Wire out of any of the other of the faces of your transformer into any number of basic machines, such as Induction Furnaces, Macerators, Recyclers, etc...

Note: If you are going to use an MFS Unit then you will need to run 4x Insulated HV Cable (try not to use too much, it loses energy rapidly) or, alternatively, Glass Fibre Cable to an MV Transformer with the three dots facing that wire, then run your Gold Cable to your LV transformer, and so on.

Hope this helped!

PROTIP: Most Solar Flowers are either a pyramid of 5 or 13 Solar Panels.
Templates

I like how the menu has been newly split up, however, I'd appreciate it if the clunky "Tools" section was divided into multiple sections like "Armor", "Devices" or "Gadgets", "Cells", and other smaller, organized chunks. --VelardAmakar 02:19, 14 September 2011 (CEST)
Templates
Part of what makes http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki (the Minecraft wiki) so easy to read are the templates that host images and brief descriptions about blocks and items as well as those show-casing recipes on the crafting table and the furnace as well. :*That is not the sub-wiki link, that is THE Minecraft wiki link.
On top of that, I would recommend some name changes. ==Wiki Content==
I was just wondering if the main focus of this wiki is to be Alblaka's words, which can be read on his forum post, or more clearly defined, less humorous specifics about the content of his IC mod? Jasperzorin 18:12, 15 April 2011 (CEST)
:I am also curious, if much of the content is supplied from Alblaka's post, then it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of use to the wiki.

You want to make a Suggestion?
I like how the menu has been newly split up, however, I'd appreciate it if the clunky "Tools" section was divided into multiple sections like "Armor", "Devices" or "Gadgets", "Cells", and other smaller, organized chunks. --VelardAmakar 02:19, 14 September 2011 (CEST)
On top of that, I would recommend some name changes. The Integrated Heat Dispenser should be changed to the Integrated Heat Disperser as stated in the In-Game tooltip. :I am also curious, if much of the content is supplied from Alblaka's post, then it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of use to the wiki.

You want to make a Suggestion?
The Integrated Heat Dispenser is a Nuclear Reactor component that has the ability to redistribute heat from itself either to neighboring components, or to the Reactor Hull. Every tick, the Integrated Heat Disperser can add or subtract up to 6 heat from surrounding elements, and dispense up to 25 heat to or from the Reactor Hull. The dispenser will attempt to make the heat level within the Reactor Hull, itself and the adjacent cooling components all equal.

Hope this helped!

PROTIP: Most Solar Flowers are either a pyramid of 5 or 13 Solar Panels.

Moridar: /* HV (Iron) Cable */

The Cables are the primary means of transferring EU from one device to another. There are several different tiers of cables, depending on how much current they can tolerate. If too much current is applied to a cable, it will instantly melt. Different tiers are made out of different metals. Furthermore, all cables suffer from distance-related energy losses - long cables will inevitably lose energy in the process of transferring it. There are several ways to offset it - Transformers and insulation. For higher-tier cables, the insulation also reduces the amount of shock damage the player and NPC's receive from touching the cable under high voltage.

Cables can also be painted using the Painter. This separates them, preventing cables of different colors from interacting with each other. This also greatly reduces the strain on CPU, as large cable meshes with many intersections require the game to perform many CPU-heavy calculations.

Insulation
Insulation reduces the amount of EU lost as it travels through a cable, it can be added simply by placing the cable in a crafting grid with some rubber.

A cable placed in the world can have insulation added or removed with a pair of Insulation Cutters.

Uninsulated cables (except glass fibre) cannot be coloured with the Painter.

Cable Efficiency
All cables suffer distance-related energy losses, and depending on the tier and insulation of the given cable, the losses can vary greatly. The general unit for cable efficiency is EU/block. It shows how much EU the given cable loses per block. The number is accumulated along the whole length of the cable, and then rounded down to the nearest integer. Therefore, if a distance is short enough, there EU loss will remain zero. For example, since Copper Cable loses 1 EU every 5 blocks, a 4 block long Insulated Copper Cable won't lose any EU.
Cable Splitting
Up to 6 cables can connect to one other cable. Current will only flow through a cable when requested by a consumer if the loss from the cable length will allow some energy to get to the consumer. i.e. a Batbox (32EU) will send across insulated copper to a furnace up to 155 blocks away (5x31). No energy will be sent to a furnace 156 blocks away.

Keep in mind, however, that an excessive number of cable intersections will increase strain on your CPU (and more importantly, the server, when playing on a multi-player server). Don't do things like having rows of adjacent cables with every block connected to every other block. Also, separate cables connected to an energy storage device (BatBox, etc.) or transformer do not count as a cable intersection, so take advantage of that when possible.

Cable types
More detailed information and a larger recipe list is available by looking at the page for each cable type.

Tin Cable
Tin cables can only tolerate up to 3 EU/t but they're very cheap to make and have extremely low energy loss.

Copper Cable

Copper cables are the most common cable tier. They are only capable of handling Low Voltage (up to 32 EU/t), however, they suffer the smallest distance-related energy losses out of all the conventional cables, with insulated copper cables having even less energy losses.

Gold Cable

Gold cables can transport Medium Voltage (up to 128 EU/t) but has higher energy loss than copper. The loss can be remedied to some extent by giving the cable up to two layers of insulation.

HV (Iron) Cable

HV Cables can handle the highest amount of current possible at up to 2048 EU/t however it loses energy very quickly and should only be used when there's no other choice. HV cables can have up to three layers of insulation to help deal with the energy loss.

Glass Fibre Cable
The Multi-Functional Storage Unit, or MFSU, is a Tier 3 energy storage device. It is able to store up to 10 million EU (making it capable of powering multiple teleportations or sustaining a force field for a long time), and can accept a maximum current of 512 EU/s from all 5 input faces combined (the faces without dots). It can also emit a current of 512 EU/s from its output face (the face with a dot).

Like all storage units, its output face is marked by a special texture, which usually faces the player when the block is placed. The direction of the output face can be changed by right-clicking with a Wrench onto any of the input faces of the block. Be aware that right-clicking the MFSU while pointing at its output face will dismantle it.

Note that applying a Redstone signal to the MFS Unit will make it stop emitting power from the output face.
