Hi, I noticed you've been reverting various recipes to the old ones using insulated copper cable.

I suggest you update to IC2 1.97 and then check your recipes in NEI.
The Multi-Functional Electric storage unit, or MFE, is a Tier 2 energy storage device. It is able to store up to 600,000 [[EU]]. It can accept up to 128 EU-Packet power, with unlimited EU/t, from its 5 input faces and output 128 EU-Packet power, with a max of 128EU/t, from its output face.

Like all storage units, its output face is marked by a special texture, which usually faces the player when the block is placed. The direction of the output face can be changed by right-clicking with a Bronze [[Wrench]] onto any of the input faces of the block; normally, this will point the output face towards the player, but holding Shift while clicking will point the output face in the opposite direction. Be aware that right-clicking the MFE Unit while pointing at its output face will dismantle it.

You can set the redstone behavior by clicking the redstone button on the top left of the GUI.

PROTIP: Do NOT use [[Copper Cable]] on the output face because Copper cable cannot handle more than 32 EU.
The ''Compressor'' is a machine commonly used to create advanced items such as [[Advanced Alloy]]s, [[Carbon Plate]]s, [[Industrial Diamond]]s, and [[Compressed Plantclump]]s. It can also make snowballs and ice. In addition, it is used for the intermediate stages of crafting many items.

Compressors may be powered by a direct [[Cable]] connection, a [[Single-use Battery]], or a [[RE Battery]] in the lower slot.

'''Note:'''
As of v1.337 a [[pump]] with a infinite water source under it and a compressor placed directly next to it will pump and compress water into snowballs without the need for cells.
The High Voltage Transformer is used to turn '''Extreme Voltage''' (EV) [[EU]] current into '''High Voltage''' (HV) and back. This transformation is useful for carrying EU over extreme distances without significant losses.

EV current must be wired into the output face (the 3-dotted one), while HV current can be wired into any other face. By default, the Transformer outputs HV current. A Redstone signal must be applied to it in order to make it reverse flow, thereby emitting EV current from the High Voltage face (the 3-dotted one).
When using any Transformer, remember that the 3-dotted face means '''higher current''' and the 1-dotted face means '''lower current'''. You can change the direction the 3-dotted face is facing by right-clicking a 1-dotted face with a [[Wrench]].

=== Converting to HV: ===

In order to convert EV to HV, you must point the [[Cable|cable]] carrying EV from another HV Transformer to the 3-dotted face and then link a cable to one of the faces with a single dot. Then that cable will be carrying HV that you can link to an [[MFS Unit]] or an [[MV Transformer]].

=== Converting to EV: ===

In order to convert HV to EV, point the cable carrying HV from an MFS Unit or an MV Transformer to one of the one-dotted sides and then link a cable that can carry EV to the 3-dotted side. '''Do not forget to apply redstone''' to the HV Transformer.
Generators are used to either supply direct power to machines or charge [[RE Battery|RE Batteries]]. The basic Generators operate on conventional fuel, which includes most wooden items, Charcoal, Coal, certain plants, and [[scrap]].

While costly in terms of fuel, basic generators are also one of the most mobile power sources, and don't suffer the drawbacks of requiring sunlight, water, lava, or proper wind as the case is with the other types of generators.
== Canned Food and Minecraft Beta 1.8+ ==

Since Beta 1.8 added the hunger system, all foods (with the exception of Golden Apples and Milk) can now be stacked to 64. What, if any, changes to the article are appropriate considering this change?
[[User:Subignition|-- SubIgnition]] [[User_talk:Subignition|(talk)]] 16:22, 22 October 2011 (CEST)

well i personally think the canning machine still has use as a common food that is made from all food types.
a example is you have 3 pork ,7 chicken and 4 melon pieces. these take up 3 inventory slots but can be compresses to use 1 inventory slot instead of 3.
zulu_217
:I don't think another mod automating that is relevant, at all. But apparently what was not mentioned in the article is that IC² canned food still '''directly restores health''', rather than hunger. Though this behavior is inconsistent, it does, in its current state, provide a good reason for the machine's existence, so I am going to make a note of this on the page.
Is this forced by the programmers or is it a bug?

I think that it is not logic to put the Lappack in the BatteryBox, because you'd have to do this 30 times to fill the LapPack.
And if you can put a BatPack in there, why not put a LapPack in the Geothermal Generator?
Pherhaps you could think about different currencies between BatPack and Lappack, but it is not written anywhere so
you cann not say that it is because of this.
:Well does not really matter if its logical or not to charge lappack using a batbox - it just does not work at all :) And afaik theres other machine+power source combination that are either disabled or disabled by default (miner+lapotron for example?) --[[User:Pinkishu|Pinkishu]] 13:58, 19 May 2012 (CEST)

This is logic. Lappack is a tool from Tier II.
Batbox and Geogen are from Tier I (considering Geogen have less than 32 EU/t output).
In fact, Geogen have better storage capacity than MFE, because of the stack of lava cells you can put into, or up to 480 000 if you don't use the slot to put more lava cells. But it's from Tier I.
That's why you can't charge your Lappack in.

The '''Canning Machine''' puts food into [[Tin Can]]s, which, can be stacked up to 64. It also is used to refill [[Fuel Can (Empty)|Fuel Cans]] and [[Jetpack]]s.

To start canning, put the food you want to can in the upper slot and the cans in the lower slot and supply power, either by cable or with a battery in the left slot.

Different foods fill a different number of cans, depending on the type of food. The [[Canning_Machine#Item_List|Item List]] details the different amounts of cans generated for each type of food. Canned food can be stacked, regardless of what food was used to create it, allowing you to stack different food types and save valuable inventory space.

Note: if you're using BuildCraft Pipes there is a bug in IC2 1.337b where the output sides of the canning machine are reversed. So if you want to attach a pipe to extract filled cans you need to attach it to the '''left''' side of the machine.

Canned Food is eaten by right clicking on the filled can while holding it, like normal food.

Canning Machines are also used to fill Fuel Cans with fuel cells. Six fuel cells or biofuel ones are required to completely fill an empty fuel can.

==Item List==

===Food===

Each can of food restores 1 point on the hunger meter. Because of this, it is particularly useful for weak and/or poisonous foods like [[Non-IC Items|Rotten Flesh]], as canned food is always safe to eat no matter what food was used to create it. Each can will ''also'' restore 1 point of health, making it more useful than normal food if you have recently been injured or starving.

Eating a can of food does not consume the can; instead, it is returned to your inventory, or, if your inventory is full, dropped onto the ground.
In an early version, the closed can must be opened by placing it in an crafting field.
Before Minecraft 1.8 Beta food can not stacked, so the practical little Tin Cans was the only way to stack energy for your working Body. Some time behind the Minecraft Update, a consumed can of food healed one heart '''directly''', instead of restoring hunger like normal foods. Currently, the primary uses of the canning machine in regards to food are its ability to cleanse foods such as zombie flesh and spider eyes of their negative effects, and to allow multiple types of food to stack into a single intentory space.
Since Beta 1.8 added the hunger system, all foods (with the exception of Golden Apples and Milk) can now be stacked to 64. What, if any, changes to the article are appropriate considering this change?
well i personally think the canning machine still has use as a common food that is made from all food types.
a example is you have 3 pork ,7 chicken and 4 melon pieces. these take up 3 inventory slots but can be compresses to use 1 inventory slot instead of 3.
It looks like between 1.15 and 1.23, the dependent version of MCForge changed. Since the typical update usecase is to swap jars in the mods/ folder, it's very important to note updated dependencies.
The information is not on [[Download]] page; the information is not on the [[Updates]] page. I looked at the [[Updates]] page and saw that there was a new version out (1.23). I downloaded it, swapped out the jars in the mods/ folder, and ran minecraft. It crashed on initialization with an error as cryptic as "failed to load mod_IC2". The reason is that I needed to remod my minecraft.jar with a new version of MCForge (possibly one of the ModLoaders changed too; idk.). This is not obvious. Maybe that's nothing, but 1.337b Changelog section is not closed(last two <nowiki>"}"</nowiki> not placed) so it all is shown as plain text.
Can someone with permission fix it plz? [[User:LitTLE|LitTLE]] 14:46, 1 June 2012 (CEST)
