Electrolyzers store EUs when placed ajacent to an energy storage block by converting (regular) water cells into electrolyzed water cells and vice versa. Charging occurs when the storage block is over 70% full and discharging occurs when less than 25% full. Electrolyzed cells suffer a penalty to efficiency when discharging depending on the adjacent storage block. Speed also differs between storage blocks.

Simply place the Water Cells directly to the left of the energy storage display, and as they are removed from the stack and filled with energy, they will be placed in a slot directly to the right of the energy storage display. From there, they may be removed to store for later or left in place to discharge as needed.

Each electrolyzer will only connect to a single storage block and it must be directly adjacent; additional adjacent storage blocks are ignored. Up to 5 Electrolyzers may be attached to a storage unit while leaving space for a single cable.

Speed is 2 x 4 ^ (tierlevel) EU per tick. Energy loss is 2000 * (3 - tierlevel).

batbox tierlevel = 0, MFE tierlevel = 1, MFSU tierlevel =2

batbox = 2 EU/sec, returns 14kEU per electrocell (70% efficiency)

MFE = 8 EU/sec, 16kEU per electrocell (80% efficiency)

MFSU = 32 EU/sec, 18kEU per electrocell (90% efficiency)

Water cells always require 20kEU to convert into an electrocell.

Efficiency is only lost when a water cell is FULLY charged (and converted). A system that halts charging a water cell at less than 20kEU will maintain perfect efficiency on the discharge (creating no electrocells).

Electrolyzers acts as an additional storage device for your MFE/MFSU that, while slow to charge and discharge, can be disassembled and stored, etc. A full Electrolyzer (64 Electrolyzed Water Cells) stores 1.02-1.15 Million EU (MFE vs MFSU), saving precious diamonds. Up to 5 Electrolyzers can be placed around a single MFE, extending its potential storage capacity 8.5x (after 80% efficiency), without any diamonds. Additional cells can be manually loaded/unloaded, allowing an infinite potential storage capacity if maintained.

Transporting Electrolyzed cells by foot is simple and easy, and may actually be more efficient than extremely long distance transmission lines. High-voltage cable reaches 80% efficiency at 410 blocks of transmission.
Usage
The Water Mill has two modes of operation:
:*Manned: The Water Mill is filled manually by placing Water Buckets or a Water Cell in the lower slot

Optionally an RE Battery can be placed in the upper slot.

The Water Mill will charge the battery or output power at a rate of:
:* Manned: 1 EU/t A single water unit produces 1000 EU and the Water Mill can store 4 water units worth of water.
:* Unmanned: 0.010 EU/t per block of adjacent water. The maximum output of an unmanned Water Mill is 0.25EU/t (3x3x3 cube of water with the mill in the middle, plus 1 piece of cable to direct the energy = 25 water tiles).

Water Towers
A Water Mill on its own will produce very little EU if left unmanned, even when completely surrounded in water. So it's better to build compact clusters of them. A 'water tower' is one of many methods.

A water tower is a number of watermills, usually stacked, such that they all feed to the same energy storage device and are surrounded by water. For best results, arrange the tower sections so that there's at least a one block layer of water around each watermill. Below is an example of a horizontal layer of a watermill.

Detailed Mechanics
A Water Mill only uses water that directly surrounds it (a 3x3x3 box with the Water Mill in the center). Each block of water adds roughly .01 EU/t to its overall output.

Using the water tower design from above will result in each Water Mill being surrounded by 21 water blocks like so:

21 * 0.010 = 0.21 EU/t from each watermill, 0.84 EU/t from each layer of watermills. So, to run a Macerator non-stop 2.5 layers (10 watermills) are needed (2.1 EU/t)

Some notes about the behavior of some Water Mills that were studied:
* Water Mills can 'share' the same water block with seemingly no effect.
* Using flowing water instead of still water had no noticeable effect.
* A Water Mill suspended over water will still react to the water below it even though the watermill is not visibly touching the water.
* Water Mills are not noticeably affected by rainfall.
HAYO
For those who prefer old-school energy generation, we invented this nice little thingy.

The Water Mill can produce energy... by using WATER, isn't that suprising?
Sounds simple, doesn't it?
But i hope, you didn't forget the good ol' times? You know, the times where people were actually WORKING for their lives? The Water Mill is for THAT kind of people.
If you want to use it, fine, but keep in mind it needs a constant supply of fresh water to charge RE Batterys.

If your mouse-clicking finger hurts, don't blame us, HAYO!

Interaction with other mods
* Liquid Transposers from Thermal Expansion may be used to fill water buckets. Otherwise, deployers from Redpower may be used.
* GregTech adds a method of "recycling" used water mills back into generators. (Shapeless)
