Iron Scaffolds are sturdier versions of wooden Scaffolds.

They still need to be supported by other scaffolds below, but they're able to extend 5 blocks out from the the blocks that support them.

They are easy to set up / demolish and even act as ladders for reaching the building height easily.

As of version 2.X, spraying then with Construction Foam will turn them into Reinforced Stone.

Usage
Rightclick: Places one Scaffold (as normal)

Leftclick: Places one Scaffold on top of the scaffold you clicked on. (This only works if you have already placed one Scaffold)

In experimental builds CF sprayed onto Iron Scaffold hardens to Reinforced Stone. Note: The scaffold will be consumed.

Reinforcing Iron Scaffolds
You may reinforce Scaffolds by using an additional Iron Fence.

Right-clicking on an existing scaffold with an iron fence will reinforce it. This will consume 1 iron fence. The scaffold being reinforced must also be part of a pillar of scaffolds connected to the ground.

Once a scaffold has been reinforced, you may then place additional scaffolds adjacent to it, over air blocks, up to 12 blocks away.

forum.industrial-craft.net

Note that this type of scaffold (due to it being made out of iron) needs to be broken by a pickaxe to retrieve it. You will also get the iron fence back from reinforced scaffolding. Thus, nothing is wasted when reinforcing a scaffold.
HAYO
Tired of using pillars of dirt to reach places too far up to reach?
Tired of having to remove every single standard cubic-meter material unit of temporary structures one-by-one?
Tired of using the S-10 Woodenized Stationary Unstationary Scaffold and its low Supporting Range?

Well, then I've got good news for you!

The S-20 Ironized Stationary Unstationary Scaffold solves all your problems!
It makes constructing temporary towers easy and you can remove the ENTIRE TOWER by just removing frikkin' ONE SINGLE METER of S-20 Scaffolding! HAYO!

Of course, such AWESOMENESS must come with a downside. Even though you can attach more S-20 Scaffolds to the side of a pillar of S-20 Scaffolds, this is only possible to a certain extent.
And while the Supporting range of the S-20 Scaffolds is much higher than that of the S-10, it may still not be enough.
But again, we've got you covered! You can EXTEND the Supporting Range of your S-20 Scaffolds using SIMPLE IRON POLES such as those used in fences!
