Solar Panels are generators that utilize the energy of the Sun to generate EU. This fact means that they cannot work underground (unless there is an unobstructed view of the sky), in the Nether or the End. They also don't work at night.
Due to the relative weakness of power generation, Solar Panels are often assembled into so-called Solar Flowers (when using Copper Cable), whereby as many Solar Panels as possible are connected to a BatBox using cable lengths of four segments or less. These constructions provide the benefit of compact and relatively cheap Solar Panel arrangements without energy losses. This was the most efficient design that existed in IC1 and earlier versions of IC2. The addition of Tin Cable, which allows micro currents to be carried 40 blocks, has made other arrangements equally feasible. Now, arrangements using a combination of tin and copper cables can provide superior efficiency, and don't require such intricate planning.
The Advanced Miner is an upgraded version of the Miner. Unlike the Miner, it does not require Mining Pipe or a Mining Drill to function, relying solely on power. An additional feature of the Advanced Miner is a black/whitelist function. The mode of this can be toggled by a button in the GUI. In Blacklist Mode, any blocks placed inside the GUI will not be mined by the Advanced Miner, and will be ignored. In Whitelist Mode, any block inside the GUI will be the only blocks mined, and all other blocks will be ignored. The blocks specified are based on what they drop, but are also compatible with Silk Touched ores. For example, on Blacklist Mode, when Redstone Dust or Redstone Ore is in the GUI, no Redstone Ore will be mined. It is worth noting that the slots inside the GUI are not storage spaces, they are only used for the filters. A Chest or similar inventory placed above the Advanced Miner will automatically collect the items, not needing an Ejector Upgrade.

Usage
To activate the Advanced Miner, simply put OD Scanner or OV Scanner in the scanner slot in its inventory and connect it to a power source. Once supplied with power, the Advanced Miner will dig up all blocks beneath it in an area centered around itself. The size of the area will be 33x33 when using an OD Scanner or 65x65 when using an OV Scanner. An inventory placed above the Advanced Miner is necessary to output the items. Additionally, there is a button that looks like Coal Ore in the GUI, clicking that will toggle Silk Touch mode, however when Silk Touch mode is enabled, the Advanced Miner will consume significantly more power.
Any redstone mined by the Advanced miner wil be used for EU generation unless the lower slot is occupied with a battery or a energy crystal.

It is worth noting that inserting Overclockers will NOT increase mining speed, but instead they will increase the scanning speed of blocks in the black/whitelist.

The Advanced Miner will retain 80% of its stored EU when removed with a Wrench.

Liquids which would block the Miner are not a problem for the Advanced Miner. No Pump is required. If you want the liquids, you will need an extra pump.

Mining Range
* OD Scanner: 16
* OV Scanner: 32

Details
Advanced Miner will consume 512 EU per operation.

Advanced Miner will firstly charge tools, and secondly mine. We recommend you to charge your tools before putting it into your Advanced Miner to get a quicker start. (BTW, I think this is a bug, and could someone check it?)

Each augmentation upgrade will provide 5 more blocks available. However, augmentation upgrade is not available.

A redstone input will pause Advanced Miner from mining, but will reserve the mining progress.

The Advanced Miner works with Thermal Dynamics Itemducts and will output a block every 40 ticks.
