Combine the CFPack (and a CF Sprayer, of course) with some Scaffolds, and you can get yourself a creeper-proof bunker in no time!

The CFPack is able to hold up to 129 CF Pellets (258 sprays), and is recharged at a Canning Machine, saving your mouse and finger from excessive clicking. The CFPack itself goes in the lower slot (where empty Tin Cans would go) and the CF pellets go in the upper slot (where food would go).

Unlike when using the BatPack, using the CFPack won't recharge/refill the actual Sprayer tool, simply maintain its initial charge level. The CFPack must be equipped in the chest slot to function.
The Advanced Miner is an upgraded version of the Miner. Unlike the Miner, it does not require Mining Pipe or a Mining Drill to function, relying solely on power. An additional feature of the Advanced Miner is a black/whitelist function. The mode of this can be toggled by a button in the GUI. In Blacklist Mode, any blocks placed inside the GUI will not be mined by the Advanced Miner, and will be ignored. In Whitelist Mode, any block inside the GUI will be the only blocks mined, and all other blocks will be ignored. The blocks specified are based on what they drop, but are also compatible with Silk Touched ores. For example, on Blacklist Mode, when Redstone Dust or Redstone Ore is in the GUI, no Redstone Ore will be mined. It is worth noting that the slots inside the GUI are not storage spaces, they are only used for the filters. A Chest or similar inventory placed above the Advanced Miner will automatically collect the items, not needing an Ejector Upgrade.

Usage
To activate the Advanced Miner, simply put OD Scanner or OV Scanner in the scanner slot in its inventory and connect it to a power source. Once supplied with power, the Advanced Miner will dig up all blocks beneath it in an area centered around itself. The size of the area will be 33x33 when using an OD Scanner or 65x65 when using an OV Scanner. An inventory placed above the Advanced Miner is necessary to output the items. Additionally, there is a button that looks like Coal Ore in the GUI, clicking that will toggle Silk Touch mode, however when Silk Touch mode is enabled, the Advanced Miner will consume significantly more power.
Any redstone mined by the Advanced miner wil be used for EU generation unless the lower slot is occupied with a battery or a energy crystal.

It is worth noting that inserting Overclockers will NOT increase mining speed, but instead they will increase the scanning speed of blocks in the black/whitelist.

The Advanced Miner will retain 80% of its stored EU when removed with a Wrench.

Liquids which would block the Miner are not a problem for the Advanced Miner. No Pump is required.

The automated Miner is the lazy man's answer to mining.

Why spend all that time down in dangerous caves when, with a little EU, and a few bits and pieces, you can mine ore from the surface!?

Recipe
Requirements
Running the Miner requires 3 things:

*Energy from a cable or portable sources. It will only accept 32EU/p
*Mining Pipe is consumed to dig down, but will be returned if the drill is removed.
*A Mining Drill or Diamond Drill

Optional
*An OD Scanner or OV Scanner, so that it branches off to the sides to mine blocks, instead of just boring a shaft directly down.
*A Pump to collect lava and water blocks that get in the way of mining.

These are optional, but highly recommended.

Operation
To use the Miner, insert a Drill Bit into the top-left, a Scanner in the bottom-left and Mining Pipes into the middle-left.

The Miner will consume the pipes to dig down extracting ore it finds in its scan range. (See Scanning Range section)

Any ore found will be brought up and stored in the inventory of the Miner. Placing an Ejector Upgrade in the top right slot will make the Miner eject the ores and cobblestone into whatever inventory the Ejector Upgrade is set to eject to.

Once the Miner has finished, you can retract the pipes by removing the Drill bit.

An easy method of efficiently mining with the Miner is to dig down to the upper level of the strata containing the ore you are seeking. Dig through a tunnel until you find a scan result you are happy with and set up the Miner. For power, consider using a Geothermal Generator, as you are likely to be relatively deep and pumping Lava from a Pump adjacent to the Miner is an energy efficient means to power the Miner.

Scanning Range
A miner with an OD Scanner mines all ore in a 7x7 block column centered and below it.

However, a miner with an OV Scanner mines all ore in a massive 13x13 block column!

Liquids
If the Miner hits water or lava while tunneling it will stop unless they are cleared.

Placing a Pump next to the Miner will automatically extract liquids, storing the lava in the tank and discarding the water. Liquid extraction will not allow the Miner to penetrate large bodies of liquid (ie: oceans or lakes) as source blocks regenerate faster than the Pump can gather them.

Energy Costs
Rough power costs for one operation:
*Mining Drill: ~450-470 EU
*Diamond Drill: ~880-900 EU
*OD Scanner: ~65-75 EU
*OV Scanner: ~165-190 EU

So the cost to drill down 1 level with a Mining Drill + OD Scanner is ~460+~70 = ~530 EU

And the cost to drill down 1 level with a Diamond Drill + OD Scanner is ~890+~70 = ~960 EU

The Diamond Drill is far more expensive but around four times faster.

EU/Tick:

A miner with a Mining Drill and OD Scanner will use ~2-3 EU/t.

A miner with a Diamond Drill and OV Scanner will use ~20-24 EU/t due to the higher cost per tool and faster mining speed.

Other Notes
*Miners can not mine through items like torches, redstone wiring, etc.
*In the 2.X Experimental version of IndustrialCraft there is an Advanced Miner with two modes: blacklist and whitelist. It can accept up to High Voltage (512 EU/t), and does not need Mining Pipe or a Mining Drill.
*Sought after blocks are controlled in the .minecraft/config/IC2.cfg file on the line start with valuableOres=, if you want to add blocks from other mods the list is a comma separated set of blocks following this pattern: blockID-Damage:ScannerValue, ; when the damage value is not specified all possible values match. To prove you're more then just a replaceable, puny, biological machine used to perform minor tasks for <s>my personal pleasure</s> the whole company, we provided you advanced means to perform your agricultural research tasks:

First off, you are now officially permitted to assemble a "Crop-Matron".
This machine is designed to do your previous assignment: Sitting next to your crops and providing Fertilizer and Hydration for them.
A single Crop-Matron can, if sufficiently powered, cover an crop area in a 4block-radius around it, with up to +-1 height meter difference.
Be advised, to promote our employees working by hand, the machine is designed not to be as efficient as manual fertilizing/hydration.
