The Reactor Coolant Injector is a machine that repairs condensators in a Nuclear Reactor,
in support of Single-Use Coolant Configuration or SUCC design.

Recipe
There are currently two versions of the coolant injector, RSH and LZH, which repair the RSH-Condensator and LZH-Condensator respectively.

As of 2.6.133-ex110 they are still two separate machines, but one of the developers has said merging them is their intent.

Uses
The output face of the coolant injector (marked by a square, unlike the grid-texture of the other sides) faces away from the player when placed. This face should be directly touching either a Nuclear Reactor or one of its attached Reactor Chambers in order to function correctly.

To prepare the coolant injector for operation, provide it power and (using the GUI) fuel: a for the RSH or a for the LZH (neither will use the other's block). If facing a valid destination, powered, and 'fueled' with at least one block, its texture should light up red or blue as appropriate, as seen in the image at left. With its 9 inventory slots, a coolant injector can hold up to 576 blocks at a time.

Note that a coolant injector will not draw the EU it needs (1K per injection) from the reactor it is attached to - which is a very good thing if your reactor produces more than the 128 EU/t a coolant injector can handle as a power tier 2 item. The coolant injector GUI also has no energy item slot, so power must be applied by in-world means.

Once there is a condensator that requires repair in the destination reactor, the coolant injector will instantly use a resource block and 1000 EU to fully repair it. 'Requires repair' is currently defined as below 15% of maximum durability; precisely 15% will not trigger the use of a block. Thus, RSH-Condensators are only repaired once they drop below 3000 durability, and LZH-Condensators below 15000 durability.

The use of a single or in a crafting grid is far more efficient than block injection (4.5:1 and 3.6:1 respectively, in the best case of a 100% repair), as noted in the condensator article; but the use of a coolant injector allows for fully automatic application of these single-use coolants, without any concerns of reactors overheating from misclicks or inattention.

Although it is possible to enclose a coolant injector inside the pressure vessel of a fluid reactor, it is not recommended; the use of a condensator in this case is counterproductive, due to its destroying heat instead of transferring it to the reactor coolant as is needed for power generation.

A condensator is one of two nuclear reactor components that eliminates heat within a Nuclear Reactor.

Recipes
There are two types, the RSH-Condensator and the LZH-Condensator. The first is also used to craft the second, as shown.

Uses
Condensators accept heat from adjacent components, either directly from fuel rods or through the use of heat exchangers; they do not 'pull' or exchange heat in any other way. Any heat transferred to a condensator is immediately destroyed; not stored for later cooling, as in the case of coolant cells, but simply eliminated entirely. Because of this, condensators are not recommended for use in a fluid reactor, which depends on transfer of heat to reactor coolant in order to output power; with a condensator, there is no heat transfer, and thus no output power.

Condensators cannot be destroyed through heat absorption, and will simply remain in a reactor at 0 health (providing no useful function) once they have expended their ability to eliminate heat. They can be repaired while remaining inside a reactor, however (see below).

The difference between the condensators is their durability and repair options.
* RSH-Condensator has 20,000 (20K) durability.
** Place in a crafting grid with to repair (up to) 10K.
** If in a reactor and a Reactor Coolant Injector (RSH) is attached, an injected will repair between 17K and 20K.
* LZH-Condensator has 100,000 (100K) durability.
** Place in a crafting grid with to repair (up to) 5K, or with to repair (up to) 40K.
** If in a reactor and a Reactor Coolant Injector (LZH) is attached, an injected will repair between 85K and 100K.

For the coolant injectors, blocks are injected when a condensator is below 15% durability; for the RSH this means less than 3000, for the LZH this means less than 15000. (3000 and 15000 will not trigger injection, but 2999 and 14999 will.)

Due to condensators using resources to repair, a reactor setup using them should be considered a Single Use Coolant Configuration or SUCC type.

In addition to their functions within a reactor, condensators are used to craft their respective coolant injectors:
* Reactor Coolant Injector (RSH) requires RSH-Condensator
* Reactor Coolant Injector (LZH) requires LZH-Condensator

The Reactor Coolant Injector is a machine that repairs condensators in a Nuclear Reactor, in support of a Single-Use Coolant Cells or SUCC design.

The Fluid Reactor, also known as the Pressure Vessel Reactor, is an alternative use of the existing EU reactor. Instead of directly outputting EU, it outputs Heat in the form of Hot Coolant. When set up correctly, it is more efficient than a standard EU reactor.
Also, the outer reactor casing is fully modular, allowing you to place several inputs and outputs and so being able to get the most efficiency you could even imagine!

Construction
In order to build a basic Fluid Reactor, you will need the following, at a minimum:
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port
* 95x Reactor Pressure Vessel blocks

Remember that you can always swap out Pressure Vessel blocks for additional interface blocks as your setup demands.

Building the Fluid Reactor multiblock is simple:

It is a 5x5x5 cube with a 3x3x3 hollow center in which the EU reactor set is placed. A minimum of 3 interface blocks (Access Hatches and Fluid Ports) are required.
|}

Usage
The Fluid Reactor uses all the same components (Fuel Rods, Heat Vents, etc.) as the EU reactor in its internal inventory. However, it also has two 10,000 mB liquid tanks, seen on either side of the GUI: a blue Coolant tank on the left and a red Hot Coolant tank on the right. Either liquid can be added or removed with Universal Fluid Cells through the inventory slots above and below each tank.

Fluid Ports can also be used to add or remove Coolant. Placing a Fluid Ejector Upgrade in the Fluid Port's interface will allow it to eject Hot Coolant from the reactor into an adjacent Fluid Distributor, Fluid Regulator, or fluid transfer systems from other mods.

Instead of an EU reading at the bottom, the fluid reactor indicates HU/t (heat units per tick). As you place more heat vents and fuel rods inside of the reactor, that reading will rise - but not as simply as in the EU reactor's case.

Say you ignore coolant entirely and toss in a Fuel Rod (Uranium) and a Heat Vent next to each other inside the reactor. When you turn it on, the core temperature will rise, and your HU/t will remain at 0. Uh oh! The heat vent is working fine - but it's moving heat to the shell of the core reactor, instead of into the surrounding air like the EU reactor, and you didn't provide any coolant to deal with the problem. However, core temperature cannot be cooled (once heated) by simply applying coolant; you need Reactor Heat Vents (etc.) to transfer the core heat to the casing of the internal regular reactor, and coolant to absorb that transferred heat.

In short, to maintain a fluid reactor, you need:
* Fuel Rods to generate heat,
* Heat Vents to push that heat around and eventually into coolant, and
* a sustainable source of Coolant to absorb and eject all the face-melting heat your neutron-reflected Quad Fuel Rods produce.

Note: Unlike the EU reactor, the fluid reactor's power generation (HU/t) is not dependent on the Fuel Rods, but rather the amount of Heat Vents. Unmanaged Fuel Rod heat in the EU reactor would simply make the reactor overheat faster but not reduce its power output; in the Fluid Reactor, unmanaged Fuel Rod heat is stored in the reactor core.

The Fluid Reactor's power output is essentially measured in hot coolant: if you're not producing that, you're not producing power. (Although if you're heating your core, technically you're banking up power to output later. Or you're about to be testing how good your protective shielding is. HAYO!)

Coolant Cycle
Operating the Fluid Reactor will heat Coolant into Hot Coolant which is then pumped out into a Liquid Heat Exchanger (likely several, depending on how fast your reactor produces heat), which will produces HU and outputs Coolant which goes right back into the Fluid Reactor to complete the cycle.

The heat that the Liquid Heat Exchanger Outputs can be used to power a Stirling Generator to directly generate EU, or to heat a Steam Generator to generate either Steam or Superheated Steam.

Out of all the ways to generate power, superheated steam is the best; with the correct setup, it can produce significantly more power than a standard EU reactor!

Safety
The fluid reactor is inherently safe! This may or may not be a good thing, depending on just how HAYO you are.

In order to function, the fluid reactor needs its 5x5x5 outer shell completely intact. At 85% core heat, that shell will start melting into lava source blocks - and when it does, your reactor will turn off, since it is no longer a complete fluid reactor. It is important to note that even though the reactor won't gain any extra heat, it won't lose any, either, unless you do something to remove it - and so your casing will continue to melt (judging by past observations, only the standard pressure vessel blocks will, not any of the interfaces). And of course anyone within the 7x7x7 area will be damaged by radiation ticks, since the core heat is also > 70%.

In order to make a Fluid Reactor actually explode (without standing next to it and playing with Heat-Capacity Reactor Plating, anyway), you'd need to take your heat from < 85% to 100% in a single reactor tick, which would mean producing over 1500 HU/t at just the right (wrong) time.

But you wouldn't really want to do that, would you? <span style="font-size:75%">At least not in your own reactor.</span>

Field Note: If your reactor is composed of an array of heat exchangers and fans and they all melt in the same time you can actually get from 0% to 100%
(Learned this the BAD way, and it's pretty easy to reproduce, for the sake of Newton, keep an eye on it all times!)

|}

The Fluid Reactor, also known as the Pressure Vessel Reactor, is an alternative use of the existing EU reactor. Instead of directly outputting EU, it outputs Heat in the form of Hot Coolant. When set up correctly, it is more efficient than a standard EU reactor.

Construction
In order to build a basic Fluid Reactor, you will need the following, at a minimum:
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port
* 95x Reactor Pressure Vessel blocks
You can swap out Pressure Vessel blocks for additional interface blocks as your setup demands.

Building the Fluid Reactor multiblock is simple:
|}

* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port
* 95x Reactor Pressure Vessel blocks
You can swap out Pressure Vessel blocks for additional interface blocks as your setup demands.

Building the Fluid Reactor multiblock is simple:

It is a 5x5x5 cube with a 3x3x3 hollow center in which the EU reactor set is placed. A minimum of 3 interface blocks (Access Hatches and Fluid Ports) are required.
In order to build a basic Fluid Reactor, you will need the following, at a minimum:
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port
* 95x Reactor Pressure Vessel blocks
You can swap out Pressure Vessel blocks for additional interface blocks as your setup demands.

It is a 5x5x5 cube with a 3x3x3 hollow center in which the EU reactor set is placed. A minimum of 3 interface blocks (Access Hatches and Fluid Ports) are required.
|}

The Fluid Reactor, also known as the Pressure Vessel Reactor, is an alternative use of the existing EU reactor. Instead of directly outputting EU, it outputs Heat in the form of Hot Coolant. When set up correctly, it is more efficient than a standard EU reactor.
|}

Field Note: If your reactor is composed of a array of heat exchangers and fans and they all melt in the same time you can actually get from 0% to 100%

* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port

* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Nuclear Reactor
* 6x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Chambers
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Access Hatch
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Redstone Port
* 1x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reactor Fluid Port

|}

Field Note: If your reactor is composed of a array of heat exchangers and fans and they all melt in the same time you can actually get from 0% to 100%
A nuke behaves similarly to TNT, however the explosion is a crater 5 times bigger than TNT.

Use the Nuke wisely...

Attempts at using the nuke in SMP using all different methods of triggering have shown it still doesn't work correctly and neither does ITNT.

Reinforced stone/glass is the most resistant material next to bedrock. Encasing a nuke in several layers should prevent most damage. Because of balance reasons, obsidian is nerfed down to a blast resistance of 60, removing its effectiveness.

It's not recommened to test over 15 nukes at once in a cluster on the same world you are building on, even if the testing place is very far away from your buildings. In the aftermath of all such big explosions, multiple water streams will emit from all affected nearby water blocks. Since the crater will be enormous if using over 15 nukes at once, there will also be a huge amount of water falling down in the hole, and also lava, from it's supply blocks, and a HUGE amount of loose items will be scattered around in the crater. Most computers can't handle it well, and aside from the explosion itself, the crater enviroment itself will mostly then cause a enormous lag. It will usually be better with time, and also getting a bit away from the crater may also get it better.
I blew a 27 block nuke more than 300 blocks away from my two oil drilling towers (Also using buildcraft)on one of my new worlds. My small settlement is far away from the HUGE crater created, but I still suffers little to medium lag there, even if my computer is brand new. - Norrlanning96

Unlike Industrial TNT, placed nuke blocks can be broken, just like ordinary TNT.
Triggering nukes can be done in many ways, but many of them are fatal. A safer, but harder, way is to place a long redstone current to one or more nukes and detonate them from far away. The easiest way is to place Dynamite on a nearby block and detonate it with a Dynamite-o-mote from far away, but this can be very risky. You need to first right click the dynamite after placing it, and if you do a small mistake, you might end up like...Coal Dust?

Radiation Poisoning
As of 1.106, nuke explosions, if they don't kill you, will add poisonous potion effects to your player. These effects will last a certain amount of time corresponding with your distance from the nuke when it explodes. The times below are approximations based on some tests that I ran.
